I am new to Substance 3D, curious if anyone else has encountered this issue.  attempting to make a model from images.  New project --> Get content --> 3D capture,  and navigate to import 10 images (all in the same folder),  they import okay, but appears as 10 separate photogroups (not in a single photogroup).  "Submit" then generates error when generate mesh and aborts.  Curious if anyone seen this behaviour also and knew how to prevent or a workaround.  Many thanks!

Version of the app  4.0.0
Platform and OS version    Windows 11

Hi @halfscience,

An error during the mesh creation can be due to several things. I strongly advise you to take a look at this advanced tutorial serie on our 3D capture. It will give you all the keys for a successful result.

First of all, 10 images is a very small number of inputs for a 3D scan. From this fact alone, there's a lot of chances the process won't work. I advise you to have at least 30 images, but the more the better. On a similar topic, try having pictures from all angles.

Additionally, photogroups are made depending on the images metadata. Therefore, it means that your pictures have distinct data. A good set, will keep a certain consistency in between pictures (same focal, same iso, etc).

Lastly, avoid scanning shiny object (metal, glass, etc). The 3D reconstruction have trouble with reflections.

Best regards,
