Photoshop Beta 25.9.0

Apple Studio M1 Max

64GB ram

Mac OS 14.4.1

Using the new Adjustment Brush Tool is regularly crashing Photpshop Beta. Crashes while painting in an adjustment and sometimes just adding a new adjustment from the Contextual Task Bar.

To replicate enable Auto-Select Targeted Adjustment Tool for either Curves or Black & White Adjustment Layers.

Then anytime one tries to use Curves or Black & White with the Adjustment Brush Tool, Photoshop 2024 (ps ver 25.9) crashes on both Windows and Mac.

Resetting the Photoshop 2024 (ps ver 25.9) preferences made no difference on either Mac or Windows.

enable Auto-Select Targeted Adjustment Tool for either Curves or Black & White Adjustment Layers

use either Curves or Black & White as an option for the Adjustment Brush Tool and photoshop crashes

Hi @Jeff Arola testing here on both Ps release version and beta and not seeing any crashes or issues switching between settings or tools.

If you could share a video of your workflow with steps to reproduce we would be happy to try.

@André36678699dyam glad the pref reset fixed your issue.

Thanks,

Cory - Photoshop Product Manager

Happens on the just released non beta Photoshop 2024 (ps ver 25.9) update as well.

The 25.9 update added the Adjustment Brush as a new feature.

Thanks @Ed Judge , if you do a screenrecording  of your process that can show the issue, that would be very helpful to the team.

Thanks,

I'd be happy to send any screenshots, but what would be helpful to you? There are a lot of settings.

Thanks for the update @Ed Judge. We are not seeing any issues here, but if you could show your settings in a few screenshots we will try to repeate your steps to see if we are missing something.

Thanks,

Hi @André36678699dyam

Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ Photoshop Beta Settings (Mac Ventura)
/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac)

C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut
With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.
