Select layer, add layer mask (ensure layer mask is selected), select gradient too and ensure options set to linear and black to transparency with black in the foreground. There is no gradient to transparency - only a vertical line as shown in the attached. In addition adjusting the points of the gradient does not update the gradient positions. It used to work fine until recent releases. 

In Photoshop Beta, when I try to set the canvas or frame size, switching the unit of measurement from pixels to centimeters causes it to automatically revert to pixels.

When editing a text layer that has layer effects applied (specifically Gradient Overlay with “Align with Layer” enabled), intermittent rendering glitches occur. While modifying the text content, the entire layout may flicker.Steps to Reproduce: Place any background image on the canvas. A detailed image makes the glitches more visible compared to a solid color fill. Select any font and type some text. Interestingly, the appearance of the glitch depends on the chosen font. Apply a Gradient Overlay as a Layer Style to the text layer and enable the “Align with Layer” checkbox. Now try moving, scaling, or duplicating the text layer before double-clicking it to edit the text. 😅You will notice visual glitches. If no glitches appear, change the font and repeat step 4.

Generative fill partner models in Photoshop beta (27.5) are not working. BOTH he Gemini 2.5 and 3 progress bar hangs up forever, and then gives the “Could not complete your request because of a program error.” The “learn how to fix” button takes me to a page about errors during save operations. 2.5 only hangs up occasionally, but 3 hangs up and fails all the times.These errors were briefly observed in the Photoshop (27.3.1) ecosystem as well. In Adobe Photoshop, the updated Canvas Size dialog fails to record relative dimensions when recording an Action. This works correctly in 27.3.1 (Release), but is broken in 27.4.0 (Beta). Steps to reproduce Open any document. Create a new Action (in the Actions panel). Click Record. Go to Image → Canvas Size… Change the units to millimeters (mm). Switch the size mode from Absolute to Relative. Enter values: Width: X mm Height: Z mm Click OK to apply. When I choose “Export as” from the file menu, or rightclick in the layers panel to export a layer, the window that pops up for exporting just says “An unknown error occurred” and I cannot select anything.  I just updated to beta 27.4.0, and this seems to be happening on every document. This also only seems to be happening if I have “Use Legacy Export As” Selected under preferences?  I need the legacy mode to be enabled considering Adobe made some weird changes to how their PNG8 exporting works at some point, I need the legacy version to preserve the alpha channel on those.It still does Quick Export to PNG correctly, even if I have both “Legacy mode” and “export as 8bit” on the Quick Export as PNG option, so it at least seems like file type that isn’t part of the issue. No idea what is though. Extra note, I saw someone with a similar problem where theirs freezes when they switch to JPG, so it might be good to note that my dialog window is defaulting to JPG momentarily before the error p

The guides I have set on artboards don’t stay aligned when I rearrange them. The guides are still there, but they are outside of the canvas/artboard.example of a recently moved artboard and the final position of the guides 

In curves (command M) cycling through the c,m, y, k by using the command 3,4,5,6 this error pops up and closes out the curves palette. I just upgraded to the newest version of photoshop today and I’m getting this message quite frequently. not every time though.  version 27.4.0 Mac version 

Using Photoshop beta 27.4.0 release. You used to be able to hold down ALT key when entering adjustments. And it would remember your last used settings. This no longer works. For example I need to change the levels on 4 layers.I would change one.Hold down alt. Image > Adjustments > levels. Should remember my previous used levels.

When trying to add additional areas to the edges of an image using Generative Fill, it creates mismatched colors at the junction of the new and existing parts. It deviates slightly from the original areas, resulting in a grid-like pattern in those areas where new parts were created using the Generative Fill option, even if I fill them with 1024x1024 pixel sections.   I have already uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. I am using an iMac Pro running Ventura 13.3.1 system. Photoshop Beta 24.7.0

Leider tritt es vermehrt auf das ich meine Bilder nicht bearbeiten kann. Es lädt diese zwar hoch aber dann tritt die Fehlermeldung: "Unbekannter Fehler. Leider ist ein unbekannter Fehler aufgetreten. Lade die Seite neu." Jedoch kommt dann immer wieder diese Meldung. Trotz neu Laden oder schließen des Programms. Ich überlege tatsächlich mein Abo zu kündigen, da es so für mich und meine Arbeit nicht nutzbar ist. Ich dachte erst es liegt an einer veralteten Version meines Macs jedoch habe ich mittlerweile alles aktualisiert und dennoch funktioniert es nur wenn ich Glück habe. Trotz Program m Schließen oder neu laden passiert dennoch nichts. So kann ich dieses Programm nicht für meine Arbeit nutzen 

I'm on macos tahoe 26.2. with an apple m2 max cpu.i want to test the new firefly model in Photoshop 27.4so i want to create a blank file with the size of 150x150mm.the defaut size are 800x500 px. at the moment I want to change from pixel to millimeters. Photoshop 27.4 crashs immediately

Hi, since a few days when opening Photoshop, the keys don't work properly. I can't use CTRL+N or +O for a new file or to open a File. When I open an image by mouse, I can click on the tools and rename the layers for example. But I can't use the keys to select the tools or to increase/decrease my brush. The Function keys still work so I can show/hide my layers/colors etc. Anyone an idea? Already went to Preferences/Tools and turned on/off Spring-loaded Tool Shortcuts, that didn't do the trick. Also tried booting in Save mode and clearing all preferences to defaults..  Nothing works. If I open Illustrator, the keys work.   Anyone an idea? This drives me crazy 😞

Following the recent update, the Hue/Saturation functionality appears to be experiencing issues. Specifically, adjustments to saturation result in a complete blockage, and the Hue and Lightness controls are unresponsive. Pure gramatical: Are there spelling mistakes in this?Please correct, but keep the same words.—When I'm working wih adjustement layers, I always make a rough selection (mostly lasso tool) for the part I will be working on.Then I fill the mask completly black (fore-or background color, depending what is what (Cmd-D)And when the mask is black I do the finer painting in of the mask in a white brush.65% of the time I get the 'Bump' sound, so Photoshop can not exectute my command. (To fill the mask black). ...Because there is something selected for typing, somewhere!? (Either a hue/saturation value, a Color balance value, or whatever that automaticaly selects the parameter value of that adjustement layer. I can override this by switching from one tool to another.Or by switching to another program on my comuter, not Photoshop. But this is SO-VERY-annoying, and I loose time.Is there a solution to this please??It's the same problem in Photoshop Beta as in Photoshop v27.0.I m

generative fill ignores prompts completely. and many times it will repeat the same variant endlessly without any alteration. completely useless.

- Photoshop Beta 27.0 on Windows (updated today ;-)) I have 'Select Subject' - 'Upper Clothes' as a step (2nd step) in an Action..   Select People   Without Select All People   People: 1   Tags: "Upper clothes" Happens whether i run the full action or I step through.  Also tried 'With Select All People'  but only 1 person in any of my images.  The only way to get out is to hit esc a bunch of times, otherwise, it just sits there spinning...... It worked fine until 27.0, and still works in 26.11...

I keep getting this issue where I open a photo from Lightroom Classic into Photoshop Beta, and my left panel icons (like layers) won't open. So I have to switch to a different workspace, then back to get it to work again.
