P: beta 25.12 crashes almost constantly

photoshop beta has been crashing and suddenly closing a dozen times a day for the past couple weeks.

i am on:

macos sonoma 14.5

photoshop beta 25.12 (for some reason i get prompted all the time to update photoshop beta to 25.12, which i am already using, annoying glitch there)

whenever i use content aware fill on a large amount of image area, or (and especially) when i use the content aware fill w/ the "additional document" feature on any image at all, the program struggles for a while (sometimes hours) then crashes.

content aware fill for anything but tiny fixes within an image has become completely unusable at this point.

in at least 2 instances this has happened while a file was saving, and the result was that the file appears to be totally lost, it saves down to an image of just grey static, very odd, i tried re-opening the .psb file and it was just static, but now with the previous history states lost when the program crashed, i cannot retrieve the information.

the constant crashing whenever the program has to work hard is really out of control at this point considering that this fucntion worked fine on the same computer up until recently.

Hi @cryanhorner a couple of things...

1. Even though you have Ps beta 25.12, there are updates to the application about two times a week... the number 25.12 does not change, but the version of that number does... if you go to Help/System Info, the first line will show you the current number, for instance... today we are on Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.12.0 20240731.m.2719 3984539 arm64... it is the m.2719 that means this is the newest... the last version was m.2716.  We hope that clears that part up.

2. You say the crashing is constant, so you mean repeatable?  Can you share the steps you do that each time cause the crash?  We need to try to reproduce those steps to see what might be happening.  Did you file the crash report with your email when this happens/ed? If so, we can look up the crash to see if any information in it will help to pin point the cause.

3. Do you see the same crashing on Ps release version?  If you do the same steps on the same file, does the release version crash or is this only on the beta?

Thanks,
