  1. Version of the app: Beta 25.11.0
  2. Platform and OS version: Mac Sonoma 14.5
  3. Basic steps to reproduce the problem:
    1. In file 1: Select object that is used as clipping mask-top layer (I tried an object that was slightly off page as well as fully on and same results
    2. Command + C
    3. In file 2: Command + Shift + V
  4. Expected result and actual result: Expected to copy in paste but pastes in top left. I have tried all other paste in place and they all work if not a clipping mask.

@vanillalily the team says this is working as expected:

"When both the clipping sheet and its underlying layer are selected, Paste and Paste in Place work correctly.

When only the clipping sheet is selected (without the underlying layer), the pasted content appears at the top-left corner instead of maintaining its position. This happens because the offset calculation for Paste in Place logic is skipped as it is dependent on the underlying layer, which is not selected for this scenario, so it skips offset calculations for clipped sheets and uses default offset. "
