Clone Stamp Tool brush preview disappears and turns into a mouse pointer on new layers (Windows Beta) It's both version 27.8 and 27.9.!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->

Issue Description:!--tgqphd|[]-->
When using the Clone Stamp Tool (S) on a newly created blank layer, the brush circle preview completely disappears and changes into a mouse pointer/arrow instead. This makes it impossible to see the brush size or the area I am sampling.!--tgqphd|[]-->

Steps to reproduce:!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->

  1. Create a new blank layer above the background layer.!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->
  2. Select the Clone Stamp Tool and set Sample to "Current & Below" or "All Layers".!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->
  3. Move the cursor over the canvas. The brush ring disappears and turns into a mouse cursor.!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->

What I have already tried (but did not work):!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->

  • Checked Caps Lock (It is turned off).!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->
  • Changed Layers Panel Options -> Thumbnail Content to "Entire Document".!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->
  • Closed and reopened the Layers Panel.!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->
  • Reset the Clone Stamp tool settings.!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->!--tgqphd|[]-->

The issue persists only in the Beta version when working on a new layer. Please help look into this bug. Thank you!

    I am sorry ​@ชัยณรงค์317635408nad unless you send your FULL sysinfo, we are not going to be able to fully help. We have asked multiple times and you do not share it, so this is limiting what we can do to help.

     

    Your workaround until a fix is pushed is to use Ps release version.

    The stamp tool: When creating a layer and working on that layer, a mouse cursor appears. This problem occurs in beta versions 27.8 and 27.9, but not in the regular versions or 27.7. Please help fix this problem, team.

    Curious if you’re working in 16-bit or 32-bit?  The team is aware of issues similar to this and it would help to narrow things down.  If so, a workaround would be try working in 8-bit mode if possible, or flatten before cloning.

    If I'm editing photos without creating layers, I can't do it. This issue is specific to the current beta version; the regular version doesn't have this problem. I need to work in layers because I work specifically with photos. Please, could the development team expedite this fix? Thank you very much.

    Hi ​@ชัยณรงค์317635408nad there are some issues with the Clone tool that teams are working on, but not seeing anything that relates exactly to your issue.  Since it is working as expected on Mac, your’s seems to be a WIN only issue.

     

    Please share a video screen recording of your workflow and what you are seeing, as well as your sysinfo.
