P: Generative Remove/Fill in PS 25.9 not working

About 40% of the time, Generative Remove/Fill doesn't remove the object selected.... it replaces it with some completely random thing that has nothing to do with the overall image.
By either leaving the prompt box empty or putting  a dot/period in the box, or even writing "remove" in the box it soooooo often just replaces the thing with some completely random object. Why???  Defeats the entire purpose of what otherwise is a great feature.

June 27 Beta - the Gnerative Fill response to "remove" has become similar to the response to a null prompt, i.e. it produces creative unwanted (but beautiful) content in place of the removed object.

Previous version of beta seemed to differentiate between "remove" and a null argument.

It was a beautiful parakeet though....

Hey There,

Recently, I updated Adobe Photoshop Beta, and it changed the entire creation flow. Before the update, I was able to generate different images. However, after the update, generative fill keeps creating identical images over and over again. I'm not sure why. Please help.

Best,

Same thing is happening to me. It's so frustrating. Would love this issue to be resolved.

Something the beta is lacking over the normal [photoshop is the ability to leave the prompt blank and have photoshop autofill logical spaces on its own. If I'm trying to remove object in the normal photoshop i jsut circle them and levae the field blank and photoshop fits the best backgorund for what i circled. Beta seems to have an issue with this and gives almsot disturbing results if i try this with photoshop beta i'll get an insect or an ear or soemthign completely random inside said circle it can't jsut fill a space with common sense so to speak.

Hi @hightidemedia what other tools have you used to try to do the same thing, have you tried the remove tool, how are the results? Sometimes GenAI is not the best choice and the rest of the tools in Ps are still the best ones.  If you could share some samples of what your workflow is and what you are trying to remove, it would be very helpful.

There are reports of GenAI results that are not optimal and the team is working on them, but we would like to see if your hitting the same issues or something else.

Make sure to update to Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.10.0 20240602.m.2640 211b761 arm64 so you have the latest and please share your samples.

Thanks,

@hightidemedia the dot workaround was phased out a few versions ago. Can you share an example of the original and results? Per the Firefly/Gen AI guide - writing remove does nothing. Try doing a prompt like "extend background" or describe what you want to see.
