P: Home and End keys don't function in the Contextual Task Bar Generative Fill prompt

Photoshop Beta Version 24.6.0 20230603.m.2196 77b00e0 x64

PC & Windows 10

Make a selection, click Generative Fill in the Contextual Task Bar, type some words, then press the Home key.. Click to move the text cursor somewhere earlier in the text, then press the End key.

When typing, one would expect to be able to navigate the text with the Home and End keys in the same way they can use the arrow keys to move the text cursor, or the Shift key + arrow keys to make a selection.  When typing a descriptive prompt in the Properties window, both the Home and End keys work as expected, but when typing a descriptive prompt in the Contextual Task Bar, neither the Home or End keys function although the arrow keys, Shift + arrow keys, Ctrl + A, etc. work as expected.

@CShubert, apologies for the delayed response.

I just went through the steps you suggested and deleted the Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Prefs.psp file, then relaunched Photoshop while holding Shift+Ctrl+Alt and deleted/reset the settings. The Home/End keys still don't function as expected in the Generative Fill prompt.

in the prompt contextual textarea : typing something and wanna go back to the begginnng in pressing START key : it's not working  same when using the END button... nothing is happening.

The use of such keys is fine when typping in the property prompt generative layer sub window .

Hi @jeancharlesamey

Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:

/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ Photoshop Beta Settings (Mac Ventura)

/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac)
C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings )Win)

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut

With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

No worries @Levi G. we wanted to make sure it wasn't a past version issue.  One more thing to try:

Try resetting Prefs for the Beta:

/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/Adobe\ Photoshop\ \(Beta\)\ Settings (Mac)
C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop (Beta)\Adobe Photoshop (Beta) Settings )Win)

Launch BETA Photoshop While Pressing The Keyboard Shortcut

With Photoshop closed, press and hold Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and then Launch Photoshop the way you normally would.

Hi, @CShubert

Oops, my bad - didn't realize I wasn't on the current release. Anyway, I just updated to 24.7 and this issue remains the same - the Home and End keys still aren't functional in the Contextual Task Bar Generative Fill prompt.

Hi @Levi G. curious if you update your beta to the latest, 24.7, and if this persists?
