P: Lightroom Classic>Edit in PS: Long Delay+Erroneous Error Message opening Ps Beta 2024 25.0

I just recently updated Photoshop Beta to 2024 v25.0 on my Windows 11 machine.

Now when I try to open photos from LR 12.4 using the "edit in...", it hangs up for a time and then comes up saying "The file could not be edited because Adobe Photoshop 2024 could not be launched."

When I hit "Ok" it then opens the file in Photoshop 2024.

This happens with every file, even if Photoshop 2024 is already up and running at the time.

This does not happen with 2023 v24.7.

Sadly, this fix no longer works. It was working last week and now the generative fill feature on version 24.6 says I need to update to be able to use this feature. Very sad. Please help if there is another solution. Thx.

Hi team

Like many i am having similar issues going from LR to Photoshop Beta v 25.0. Initially Lr says that it cant be done then after 2 minutes the files open up in PS. This is causing slow work productivity.

I have also tried all the steps in installing earlier versions, however in version 24.7 PS Beta, generative fill tool doesnt work as it needs to be the latest version.

Can someone update me with the fix for PS Beta v 25.0?  I need to regularily go back and forth from LR to PS and i need the generative fill tool.

I am using the latest windows software

I uninstalled Beta and Photoshop 23 last weekend then re installed both programs

Monday 14the August opened image from Lightroom Develop Module after applying basic adjustments by using CMD E prompt which then opened Photoshop 23 program from scratch. I have all functions working, masking brushes visible in Select and Mask Module. Also Remove tool is working. If you open a tiff file however, that is an already processed image not from the Develop Module for Lightroom then all brushes are not working and no remove tool. One has to open a new DNG (raw) from Lightroom's develop module to access tools. This makes it hard to open existing projrojects and to continue editing or re edit images in Photoshop 23.

It still doesn't work, I tried reverting back to version 24.7 and it gives me an error message when I try to do certain tasks i.e. remove and object it tells me; "This capability is only available in the latest versions" something like that. Which is obviously not true since from the very first version you were able to remove objects. Frustrating.

Confirming that UNFOTONY's workaround works!

"If you roll back Lightroom to version 12.2.1, then exporting to Photoshop Beta 25.0 works fine."

Just found the same issues.  The subscription is starting to look sinister!

Worked for me, I like this workaround better.

Today on August 14th, the generative fill on PS Beta 24.7 has been removed.
And the same problem still is going, we have any news on the bug solution?

Quick, Temporary fix.

This morning Photoshop Beta 24.7 stopped allowing me to use Generative Fill so I tried to update to Beta 25, hoping it might have been fixed without a verison change.  I still had the Lightroom Classic - Photoshop Beta 25 issue of not being able to open images.

The Temp Fix I am using is:

Went to Export.

Set it up to create a PSD of the image in the same folder and had it open Photoshop Beta 25.

This seems to be a good work around until they work out the issue.

Here are the settings I used.  Yours may be different depending on how you work.

Hope this is helpful.

so i rolled back to the last photoshop 23.5.5  version before it became photoshop 24...

and everything works fine!   liquify,  tether with lightroom, neural filters , everything...

so , something about the changeover to v24 that broke it all...

i guess ill just stay on v23 for as long as i can for now
