P: Photoshop Beta 28.0 | Move Tool (V) → Auto-Select: Layer Single-click on objects selects layers normally. The bug has not been fixed.

When you drag the selection of multiple objects with move tool, it directly doesnt work, you cant select anything usign this basic gesture.

Instead you need use shift to select manually and one by one each object to move it together.

I was in love with the beta version for the Ai assistant features but its broken, you feel the Photoshop program more like an Ai slop tool.
Make more usefull filters, easy effects, add a in-stock HD resources as textures, fonts etc.
We dont need more Ai because Adobe Firefly is the worst image model, except just for expand selections.
Fix the drag selection at least
 

Yep, Days later and multiple updates and still no fix. 

I found that it works in the regular Photoshop, but I switched to Beta because of issues with the other version!

since the last update the Move/Select Tool (V) doesn’t work properly anymore.

1. Select Move Tool (V)
2. Enable Auto-Select: Layer
3. Drag marquee on empty canvas
Expected: layers inside marquee get selected

This is a crucial tool to help me with my layout and edit process. At the moment it is unusable and more and more people speak out about it.

Please get it fixed asap.

Photoshop Beta version: 27.12.0 20261005.m.3700 e7185eb x64 (beta, PublicBeta)
Operating system: Windows 11
Auto-Select checkbox: OFF
Auto-Select target: Layer

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open a document containing multiple visible layers.

2. Select the Move Tool (V).

3. Set the Auto-Select target to Layer and leave the Auto-Select checkbox OFF.

4. Hold Ctrl and click-drag from an empty area of the canvas to draw a selection box around several layer objects.

5. Check the selection in the Layers panel.

Expected result:
The layers inside the selection box should be selected.

Actual result:
The layers are not selected when I perform this action.

This interrupts my wedding album layout workflow. Please investigate this behavior.
