P: Photoshop Beta Generative Fill produces different colors at the edges of the selection.

When trying to add additional areas to the edges of an image using Generative Fill, it creates mismatched colors at the junction of the new and existing parts. It deviates slightly from the original areas, resulting in a grid-like pattern in those areas where new parts were created using the Generative Fill option, even if I fill them with 1024x1024 pixel sections.

I have already uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. I am using an iMac Pro running Ventura 13.3.1 system.

Any update on this? Why does Gen fill do a commendable job on some complex tasks but is unable to blend transitions in smooth surfaces at all? Is it even acknowledged by engineers, is it currently being worked on or is it so far down the list under more headline worthy features?

It's been 2 years since this bug was identified. Why can AI sometimes do complex work but fail at some simple blending? Unfortunately the new Flux Konent and Nano Banana do not work for me. This is Firelfy 3

Any update on this? It was aknowledged over 2 years ago. Gen fill is getting better and some complex tasks but completly fails when removeing objects on a smooth background. Attached is a before and after, you can clearly see the selection outline and color change

I'm back to using old methods from cs6 days. Quicker and more reliable than the mess that generative fill is.

The only solution I use is to play around with the generated mask and tweak the contrast/levels/colours until it matches (which is no easy feat to get it to match 100%).

Still no solution for this? Disappointing...

Somebody has good workrounds or tips?

This is still a problem and it comes from the Generative Expand feature in firefly itself...
Sadly, i can't use Firefly's brilliant API until this is fixed or brought to a better state.

It seems that Adobe is trying to create a soft mask to make the transition between the generated content and the original less obvious but the colour difference is still there.
If you print any of these artworks you will 100% see a very nasty variance!

This problem persists in both the "stable" version of Photoshop and the Beta.

Yes. There have been multiple versions/updates, yet this problem consistently affects what should be simple generations.

As the previous person stated, the color of the rendered area does not match the original image. Even simple blue skies have this issue.

This issue occurs on all of my laptops and desktops, so it's not a hardware problem.

This thread is already full of examples, multiple screenshots, fantastic descriptions. Problem is not the object which is generated, it looks like the AI model knows what to generate (most of the times), the issue is with blendig it with the scene, slight shift of colors, like if the generated part was from different colorspace and the missmatch is sometimes pretty obvious.

Snail is original photo. Empty prompt. Can you spot the shape, which I use to select the snail? The square is clearly visible, right?

Thank you @Edward Caruso Photography this is an expected result in Ps beta and over time it will improve as the goal is to get to a state that can be passed to Ps release version. We do tell customers that Ps beta should not be used for day to day work as it can change and adjust over time and release versions.

Please refer to this doc to understand what to expect from Ps beta:
