P: PS Beta 24.6 not available in CC; stuck at 24.5

I see plenty of mentions of no/disabled Generative Fill option, but few that are result of being stuck on version 24.5 ...

Im on Mac OS Ventura, connected to Adobe via MS Teams and it seems im stuck at 24.5.

I've uninstalled Beta, restarted, and reinstalled Beta twice, both resulted in 24.5 installs. I tried the "Check for updates" option a couple times, but 24.6 didnt come up. I uninstalled again, updated stable PS, restarted, and did a few more "Check for updates" rounds, but 24.6 is still not an option.

- Is the feature simply not rolled out universally yet?

- Or maybe this something our IT crew needs to allow first?

- Is there a direct link to install this particular version?

Cheers.

Hi, everyone.

One of our IT team members who is an admin managing Adobe software provided me with a DMG file that directly downloads the 24.6 Beta version without use of the CC desktop app. As of today the CC app still shows 24.5 as latest available, but this DMG allowed me to download and install 24.6.

@CShubert and @Kevin Stohlmeyer, are you able to provide a link to th eDMG? I know there are multiple versions of it as well, one for Intel and one for ARM/Apple Silicon.

One note-- my initial attempt at install didnt stick, so to speak. After the installer finished, the PS Beta app did not appear in my Applications folder. So i restarted, but still nothing. I then ran the installer again, this time manually specifiying that it install to my Applications folder, and that seemed to do the trick.

It's almost like Adobe should change their rollout policy instead of piecemealing every different enterprise IT issue. Seems like a bit of a systemic issue.

Installed and opened latest Photoshop Beta available to me, 24.5, on my M1 Max MacBook Pro, MacOS Ventura 13.4.  Immediately get small window at upper right with message, "Time to update!  It has been five weeks since this  Prerelease build was released.  Please install the latest build via Creative Cloud to stay up-to-date with features and fixes."  But the info in CC app says the Beta is "up to date", and no newer Beta is available to me. Nothing I do makes it available, and nothing I can find in the forums has helped.  This is an MIT Enterprise account, and they place no restrictions on Betas.  I very much want 24.6!!!  Please help!

Hi @Norman30075004fxlm uninstall the current beta build. Log out of the Creative Cloud desktop app. Restart computer. Log back in and check for the new beta.

If you still do not see the 24.6 beta as available check with your IT department/Admin. We have had reports that some Enterprise customers are being blocked by IT until this specific beta is vetted through risk assessments.

Hi @evanp76938536 if you are in a Teams managed environment, check with your Admin to make sure they have enabled Beta Application access for you for this version. We've had others report that IT has restricted this specific version due to the AI tools until they can determine risk.

I've restarted computer several times. I've signed out of CC, then restarted computer, resigned in, checked for updates several times.I've deleted opm.db file and restarted etc. Not sure what else to do here. Other team members that I work with have access. So strange.

Hi @evanp10051399 those areas are not restricted. Check your CC desktop app for updates to the Creative Cloud app, then check your Apps/Beta Apps. Check previous posts if you are unsure where that is located.

Not available in all geo locations? So the east coast of the US is locked out? Washington DC? Why?

OK, so scratch the above.. another IT team member, one of our Adobe admins, hit me up to tell me the following:

quote

We do not limit or block the beta versions, however, Adobe may be rolling it out in stages which is common, so it may be available in a few days or weeks.

In my Creative Cloud, I see 24.5 as the lastest beta, but another admin sees 24.6.

He then suggested trying some of the solves mentioned here and other threads, such as hitting the "Check for updates" option in CC desktop.

So, unfortunately, mystery still unsolved.

Problem solved.  I found it in the section of beta apps on Creative Cloud.  I was looking in the wrong place.
