I was told to not use greyscale on a color image

I wanted to use generative fill on a selection, but PS refused because it said my color image was in grey scale. Flat wrong. Below are screenshots of the image mode and the bad message.

And the version info follows those.

    OK. I think I see the problem. You-all don’t (yet) support 32 bit color. Nevertheless, I imported the image and sent it to PS for processing. *YOU* chose (via LR) to set the color depth to 32 and then claim that you cannot handle greyscale (monochrome). The required fix is for you to detect the actual problem and say “32 bit color is not supported” rather than mention greyscale.

    Actually that is a user choice set in Lightroom Preferences under ‘Presets’ and ‘External Editing’.

    On the misleading error message, I agree it should be changed.
