JPG date incorrect when using Save a Copy

When saving a JPG from menu > Save a Copy the file is saving with the date of the original PSD file and not todays date. As far as I can tell this only affects JPG files as the PDF and PSD I saved from the same PSD file have todays date. I have seen this many times before and in several versions of PS. This makes it hard to find files when filtering by date. The JPG was saved from the PSD I saved as a new version today as well, that didn’t change the date that was saved on the JPG.

Image files have multiple dates stored in them. Presumably Windows Explorer is showing the Date Time Original and not the filesystem date. This seems like a Windows bug. Save As a Copy creates a brand new file so the system date will be today if that is set correctly in Explorer.

I found that a similar issue was posted 8 years ago.. most of the responses were along the lines of show different columns in windows exporer or you saved over the same file.. seems like the issue is persistent and hasn’t been addressed. If you save other formats from the same file they have the correct date.
