Opened file or files, lasso select the photo part a layer with alpha mask on it.
Hit select and mask
Windows  system service exception pops up on screen, computer resets.

Cleared prefs, updated drivers and software like camera raw - no fixes
Seems like a memory leak on PS end. The rest of the program works fine for me.

Specs:

x870E Godlike
Ryzen 9 9950x
256 gig of ram
2x rtx 4090s
windows 11

@adamt18510785, Hi, does it happen with any file you try? Did it work in the last version but not in the current one (27.6 Release)? If so, consider reverting back to the previous build. Also, in Photoshop, please go to Help > System Info and paste all the results here in a reply, and we’ll take a look under your hood.

ETA: I found this also: Users with Ryzen 9 7950X and 9950X report consistent crashes in Select and Mask, often tied to AMD integrated graphics or driver conflicts. In Photoshop: Edit > Preferences > Performance > Advanced Settings, uncheck "Use OpenCL" and restart. Any difference? Finally, is your BIOS up to date?

it worked on previous versions, I’ll have to try the opencl later. I’m up to date with the bios.
on my event veiwer it looks like PS conflicts with Meta OVR and crashes the system.
