The box that surrounds text in blue is huge and is off center so it is impossible to align text properly as it jumps all over the place.

The box that surrounds text in blue is huge and is off center so it is impossible to align text properly as it jumps all over the place.

    It means that that layer has content outside of the image window bounds.

    Is the layer just a simple type layer, or is a group with multiple layers?

    Is it a smart object with multiple layers?

    Does it have a layer style applied to it.

     

    What I did here is to create a brush stroke on a new layer.

    Move the stroke outside the canvas.

    Merge the brush stroke and type layer a smart object.

    With Show layer bounds on hover enabled. if you place the cursor over the layer with the move tool selected, it shows areas outside the canvas.

      You can use Image > Reveal All to expand the canvas to show content outside of the image window

        Does it happen on all fonts or just this one?

        This is a great question. Thank you. So, I just checked and new files with this same font are fine, but the designs I have that I need to use all do the funky thing unless I make a new text box. Then it is fine. So my files must have been corrupted or something and I’ll need to delete those text boxes and do new ones. Thank you so much!! : )

          Given that it works with a new text box using the same font, I wonder if you have some non-printing text in front of the word (spaces or tabs). Either way, it looks like you now have a way forward with your design.

          Thank you for replying. It doesn’t work though. When I hit Command A to align text I need to use the move tool and the giant blue off center box appears. I use this a lot and have never had an issue. It just started a couple of weeks ago. It is definitely a glitch. When I used to click the move tool and the text it had a normal size box and I could align to the center of my design and now I can’t anymore. It’s very frustrating. It is messed up in Beta too. : (
