Two Bugs in Photoshop's Gradients with Transparency

  1. Gradients with transparency no longer work. Here is a Photoshop file with a white base layer and a black layer with a white mask on top:
    Normal

If I draw a black to white gradient on the mask from top to bottom I get this:

    Normal

If however I draw a black to transparent gradient on the mask, from top to bottom, I get this:

The gradient is drawn only at the extreme bottom

The third image should look exactly like the second image.

  2. The second bug will be more difficult to squash. I keep my gradient set to black to transparent and never change it. However, after several openings and closings of Photoshop, Photoshop replaces my gradient with a black to white gradient.
