After Effects looses color grading from Premiere Pro

After using the new Color Mode in Premiere beta, then replacing with an After Effect Composition (also beta), all color grading is lost. Maybe AE doesn’t recognize the color affects from PP yet in this beta version. But if this information doesn’t carry over, then the PP & AE workflow doesn’t work, which is a deal breaker. Unless I’m missing something, this seems like a huge oversight. Hopefully this is coming.

    Some more thoughts:

    1. The new Color Mode is a huge improvement over Lumetri.
    2. Having to go back to PP 2026 to regrade, I’m not able to reproduce the same grade as Color Mode PP beta. I think this is because greater control was added to grade highlights and shadows as well as pivot. Maybe its possible but I’ve wasted enough time having to redo color grading.
    3. Not being able to reproduce the same color grade from the beta version is frustrating. And it feels like going back to PP 2006.
    4. The new tools in Color Mode are stunning, sophisticated, and easy to dial in a pleasing result. They are well thought out and bring PP’s color grading to 2026 standards.
    5. Although the vector scope has been greatly improved with stunning clarity, the pop up version when a parameter is adjusted is pixelated, ineligible and covers the program monitor.
    6. My guess as to why AE doesn’t recognize grading done in Color Mode is that the updated Color Effect added to PP was not yet added to AE. When they are dynamically linked, color grading information from PP is then ignored because AE doesn’t support it yet. Obviously, the effect needs to be added and supported in AE for a seamless workflow. In my opinion, it should have been rolled out in AE beta to be fully tested.
