Color Experience First Blush

After finding “Color Experience” last night, I decided to play with it a bit.

So if I load a project and choose the “Color” tab, the workspace reforms with the Color control  panel on the bottom, but it says, “Select a clip to use Color Controls.”

So I go back to Edit, select a clip, then go to “Color” (with timeline indicator over the selected clip). Switching back to Color, it still says “Select a clip to use Color Controls.”

OK, so maybe I have to double-click on the displayed clip.  I do, and the program crashes.

I loaded other projects created in one of the 26.3 betas, and the color controls open right up WITHOUT having a clip selected. Perhaps the initial problem has to do with an upgraded legacy project file?

Hi @MisterAdvent We are looking into this, Please confirm if have any locked tracks in your timeline?
Could you please send report for the crash you are hitting ?

    No locked tracks.

Where do I find the crash report?

It winks out when I double click the program window image. (At least it’s consistent!)

Whoops...it just crashed choosing the Color experience tab (after double-clicking the program window in the Edit experience to make sure that wouldn’t make it crash.)

This project was created in 2024 with one of the 2025 betas. Now it’s been updated to work with current version.

With a newer project (from 2026 beta), no issue double-clicking in the program window. It selects the clip that’s displayed, and no crashing..
