Issue: Unable to Add Custom Skills to AI Assistant in Premiere Pro Beta

I'm experiencing an issue with the AI Assistant in Adobe Premiere Pro Beta.

When I open the AI Assistant and click on the "Skills" section, there is no option available to add, upload, or create a new custom skill.

I would expect to see an option to add custom skills, but the interface doesn't provide any way to do so.

Could you please confirm whether this functionality is currently supported in Premiere Pro Beta or if this is a known bug?

Thank you for your assistance.

@ITALYANA we’re still actively working on supporting custom skills in the Premiere Assistant. Coming soon you will be able to create, edit, and remove skills.

In the meantime custom skills do work if you write them yourself outside of Premiere (for example in a text editor) and save them into the custom skills folder. Click “Open skills folder” in the Skills window of the Assistant to be taken to the custom skills folder. There you can place your skill folder inside the Premiere folder, and you’ll see it picked up by the Assistant inside Premiere.

Make sure that the skill you write follows the Anthropic standard for skills, mainly:

    • your skill is in a “SKILL.md” markdown file
    • inside the markdown file is the correct “front matter” meaning the name and description fields
    • your SKILL.md file is placed inside a folder named “name-of-your-skill” and the folder name matches the skill name in the description

We’ll have more documentation around this coming soon. Let me know if you’re able to get a custom skill working.

In case it’s easier to see this way, you can see in the “Assistant Skills” folder (which you can get to by clicking “Open skills folder”), and inside the Premiere folder, I’ve added my own “matt-editing-style” folder, inside of which is the SKILL.md file, and Premiere’s Assistant is recognizing it.
