MASK TOOL NOT WORKING AT ALL

App Version:
Premiere Pro Beta 26.0

Platform & OS Version:
Windows 11 (Desktop PC)

None of the masks work at all.
Neither the new Object Mask tool nor the old traditional masks.
Whatever I click (ellipse, rectangle, pen, object mask) — nothing appears, nothing activates, and masks simply do not work.
They don’t show up in the preview, I can’t draw them, move them, or adjust them.
This happens on every clip and every project.

I restarted the app and the PC — same issue.

Please check this because in this Beta version masking is completely broken on my system.

If needed, I can send a screen recording.

all you losers on Adobe can is stealing the users lifetime. and then you cannot even come up with a proper compensation.

if you cannot make a feature work, do not offer it! that simple!

    same here. freaking annoying... AGAIN...
And no Ron, users are not that stupid to not select the effect before using it...

With no effect selected, the mask will be added to the Unassigned mask section. You can copy/paste or drag and drop to a desired effect in the Effect Controls panel. There are also contexual menu option to move masks from Unassigned to Opacity, or move a mask form an effect back to Unsssigned.
Also, if you have any Unassigned masks, if you add an effect, they will automattically be promoted to the effect. If you want to apply masks directly to an effect that is already applied, select the effect in the Effect Controls panel and any created masks will be directly applied to the effect as it did previously.
    I hope this information helps.

This is happening to me too. There's no option at all to mask with any of my effects in Beta. I've got a project fully cut and colored and now I need to mask a few things and I can't. This is an incredibly frustrating situation. Major points off Adobe for this one.

Adobe, can you fix this please??? I'm paying monthly for something that doesn't even work correctly.

the arrogance if inflicting a non-working "update" without warning and then not explaining where normal masking went and then it DOESNT WORK?

@Cyber Exodus In your case, the Mask Tools (and other tools) are not working as you have Motion enabled (note the blue outline in the Program Monitor). If you deselect Motion in the ECP or click Toggle direct manipulation in bottom left of Program Monitor, you should now be able to use Mask Tools.

    Hope this helps.
