Why are you correcting the color on the clips in the multicam clip?

Incredibly time-wasting.

You say you have two or three clips, right? Select all in a bin, "create new sequence from selection". Quickly trim to a short bit of each a few frames long, showing the same image ... headshot or whatever.

Now do a correction to one, match the others to it. Copy the Lumetri settings for clip 1, paste it onto the clip in the bin. Do the same for 2 and 3.

Delete the color correction sequence.

Done.

This is using "Source clip effect" to apply the change to all instances of the clip anywhere in the project.

Everyone's mileage always varies ...

Of course there is no resolution on this. I've been dealing with this SAME BUG for just as long. Really getting sick of these little issues without fixes.

Hello Davinder,

This has been a long time bug for me.  Probably goes backe to Version 2022 of Premiere Pro.

Computer Specs:

Mac Studio (M1 Ultra)

(I used a Mac Pro (Trash Can Mac) before the Studio.)

Memory 128 GB

Mac OS Sonoma 14.1

Adobe Software:

Premiere Pro 2022 to 2024 and in the the 2024 Beta

This happens 98 percent of the time and if I wanted to keep doing color in the multi cam sequence I would have to restart premiere everytime.  That is not a workflow I am willing to do.

My process.

1.) Shoot an multi-cam interview.  Typically the shoot has 2 to 3 differnt camera angles.

2.) Import clips of the interview into premiere via Media Browser tab in Premiere and into a bin in the project bin

3.) Select clips in the bin

4.) Right click and tell premiere to make multi-cam sequence.

I have Timecode boxes so I use timecode to sync the camera angles together

5.) EDIT the content of the interview sound bites into final project

6.) Get Picture Lock in the edited sequencs I double click Multi-cam sequencs while holding down the command key to open

up the sequence so I can see each camera angle in the Multi-cam sequence.

This is when I run into issues.

7.) Highlight Video layer and add the Lumitre effect. Go to make a change to one of the parameters (Contrast, Saturation, Hue or Curves) and then it will unselect the clip.

I can sometimes go back and select the clip again but I have to do it 2 or 3 times before the Lumetri effect will stay highlighted.

I have come up with workarounds but it prolongs my work during the coloring process since I have to copy the clips from my multi came and put them into a regular sequence.  Then I have to color and then copy the look and paste it into the multi-cam sequence on the appropriate clip.

PLEASE HELP!!!!

Also the copy paste of sequences in the bin has been greyed out time to time.  It is wildly inconstistant.  I can copy an edtited sequenes and then paste it and it has nothing in it expect for the assets I put in the project template sequence or I can not copy and Paste it at all.

Love the Template Project function by the way.

Hi,

Could you please provide more details of the steps you are trying to follow? Is it happening everytime or its one time only?

Which OS and PPro version are you using?

Regards,

Davinder Kaur
