Description of the Issue:
While utilizing the brand-new Color Mode workspace, the real-time scope overlays (both the Transient HUD scopes that appear when dragging/holding the Color & Contrast dials, as well as the new permanent "Video Scopes" panel) are rendered with heavy, blocky pixelation. The pixel-precision is so low that the waveform information is entirely unreadable for fine color adjustments.
Steps Taken to Troubleshoot (Unsuccessful):
- Verified that the Program Monitor playback and paused resolutions are explicitly set to "Full." (Note: Lowering the resolution selection to 1/2 or 1/4 results in no discernable difference in the monitor preview canvas quality, indicating a potential UI texture-buffer refresh mismatch).
- Enabled "High Quality Playback" via the Program Monitor settings.
- Attempted to adjust the "Color Heads-up Display (HUD) options" by changing the size slider up to 70–100, and switching the positioning anchor between "Program Monitor" and "Color Controls Panel."
- Confirmed the project renderer is locked to Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Metal) as recommended for Apple Silicon hardware.
Suspected Root Cause:
There appears to be a major layout texture-scaling bug between the new Color Mode scope rendering engine (Metal pipeline) and high-width display aspect ratios (specifically 32:9). The application seems to be miscalculating the screen real estate or utilizing a heavily compressed software rendering proxy, forcing the vector layout grids of both the transient HUD and the permanent Video Scopes panel to compress into low-resolution, blocky pixel artifacts.
