No "capture" option exists anywhere within my adobe premiere. WHY?

Inside adobe premiere, under file, there is no "capture" option listed. At all. Not greyed out, just missing. WHY?

This has been ongoing throughout numerous updates and it is untenably infuriating. I pay for these features. Why don't I have access to them?

It’s a 2 year old post, that was true then, now it’s v25 (2025), they allow going back 1 year’s version, so, currently in 2026 you have that 2025 option.

Premiere hasn’t had a ‘live capture’ capability since it was dropped in Pr 2024. On account of only a tiny percentage of users actually used that. A ton of work for little gain for most users. Yea, that goes away.

In place, we’ve had a ton of higher capab8ilities added since the 2024 ... the color management, masking, search capabilities, many other things.

That’s typical life in computer land.

I guess only a tiny percentage use archival material. Sorry I uninstalled an older version just within the past year. Silly me. The “typical life in computer land” concept is getting very old. Thanks

Use the capture utility provided with your video capture hardware.

Capture hardware by Canon was never used. Why would I? And now where is it when if worked so seamlessly in Premiere? Who knows?

Nope, and I’m real sorry I uninstalled an older version of Premiere (2023?) that I don’t see in Adobe’s “older version” list. 2023—such a long time ago.

Yes, capture was removed from Premiere Pro 24.0.

If you still have captures to digitize, CC Desktop will allow you to install PPro 23.x, side-by-side with a current version.

Got that. I see an option for 2025 CC Desktop. I’m assuming I’m using version 2026 (6.9.1.1.3), but not sure. Is that what you’re referring to?
