Not Remembering Last Used Export Location

Steps to reproduce:
    1. ...Set up a project to export. Choose project folder

2. Export (without using Media Encoder)

3. Discover something wrong and go to re-render

4. Export

5. Can't find file where expected
Result: ... Turns out the exporter went to the last project folder opened, not the current one. File is in the wrong folder
Expected: ...Not to have to change folder each time you go to export something

NOTE: Preferred action would be to automatically save renders to the current project folder.

I'm seeing different behavior, in the current (25.6) release, and current (26.0) beta.

    1. Launch PPro.
    2. Open project containing some sequence.
    3. Export sequence.
    4. In Export pane, select a new Location (output destination); I created a new directory, "OutputDir", on my Desktop.
    5. Successfully export.
    6. Close PPro.
    7. Open PPro
    8. Open (or create) a project containing some entirely different sequence.
    9. Export sequence.

Result: The Location (output directory) specified in the Export pane, is "OutputDir", the last directory to which I successfully exported.

    It's November 20, 2025..

And Premiere Pro STILL DOES NOT REMEMBER where I exported my last file to.

It continues to default to a nebulous '/Documents' folder. 🙄

Fix this Premiere Dev Team. 🙏

I was going to say that I couldn't replicate, but I see now I misread part of what you said. BTW, I am still in Build 33 (22.3.0).

The expected behavior is for the export dialogue to show the folder last exported to. I find that it now does that even if you don't export; just change it to a different folder, and even if you go back to Edit mode and don't export, the next export starts from the folder you changed it to.

I see no preferences to set the Export folder in the Scratch disk settings, or otherwise to tell it to follow the Project Folder.

I never export to the project folder; always to an Export folder inside the project folder. So I wouldn't want a default to the last project folder opened. No obection to a preference setting.
