Object mask tool not tracking across entirety of transitions

While not technically a bug, the new object mask tool doesn't exactly work as one would expect across transitions. The blue clip on the right has a mask and the purple clip on the left does not. When tracking the mask backwards and forwards, it stops in the middle of the transition.

While that's where the clip would end were it not for the transition, it seems like the mask tracking should take into account that there's more of the clip being used when a transition is in place. Even the Effect Controls show that there's more clip to be covered by the tracking when a transition is applied. The only solution right now is to extend the ends of the clip to make up for the additional frames needed, like so:
