Only letting me edit one character of a caption at a time.

In premiere pro, when I am trying to edit my captions, I double click on the Caption Tab in the Text Panel, and it only lets me edit one charcter (letter or space) of the caption before I have to double click the caption again. See the screen recording I took below to know what I am talking about.
