Opacity Mask bugging

Tried beta today and attempted to make a normal mask with the pen, its gone from the opacity section. I go searching the internet and finally found i have to use the pen mask tool and then change the mask  to opacity mask (counter-intuitive extra steps which are unnecessary); i try to key frame the path and it just doesn't work and remains on the last shape throughout the different key frames

Sorry for the confusion with the changes to Masking. To apply a Mask directly to an effect, you can seelct the effect first in the Effect Controls panel, then create your Mask. The Mask will be added to the effect.

As Ann mentioned, you want to be in Frame mode to make Path keyframes.

If you want to animate a mask it needs to be in frame mode not cliip mode,

    Might want to read this:

Use object masking in Premiere Pro
