P: 'duplicate' is greyed out and not working. Fixed in build 56

Hi, the 'duplicate' function in the project panel doesn't work anymore, it is greyed out and also cannot be invoked via the keyboard shortcut.

 

- this applies to any item in the project panel: sound, sequences, ect.

- this applies to the context menu (RMB) as well as the edit menu

- the keyboard shortcut does not work either (CMD+Shift+/)

 

Tested in:

Premiere Pro (Beta) 25.1.0.050 (2024-10-16)

MacOS 14.6.1 (23G93)

 

Also tested in

Premiere Pro 25.0.0 (Build 61) where it works fine.

 

As a precaution I also disabled the MacOS keyboar shortcut for invoking the help search, which is CMD+Shift+/ as well, but this doesn't affect the problem.

 

Further testing showed:

- duplicating in the project panel via CMD+drag works

- duplicating in the timeline via Opt+drag works

    You are most likely using the public version 25.0.0 build 61

      New to PP, moving from AVID. My duplicate is still grayed out. When I click "About Premiere Pro" under the Premier Pro tab, it says version 25, build 61. So it apears I am up to date.

      Hi Jamie, confirmed, Build 56 shows up in the CC app on MacOS and 'duplicate' works again. I checked via right click in the Project panel as well as the menu option. Thanks!

      This has been fixed, please update to Beta 25.1 build 56 or later.

      I'm having the same experience as Andi. My CC is up to date, I've done the search for updates, it is not showing any new updates for beta beyond .50.

      Hi Ann, yes, I am on MacOS 14.6.1 (23G93). Refreshed the CC app just now, but a higher build than 50 does not show up yet.

      I am on build 55/windows.

      Are you on a mac?

      Make sure CC app is up to date and hit Search for Update once in a while.

      Currently no update showing beyond Premiere Pro (Beta) 25.1.0.050

      Not from within Premiere Pro Beta, nor from the Cloud app.

      It's incredible how adobe wants to release new tools without doing the basics for the tool work.

      CC Cloud, and APP shows that I'm in the latest version 25.1.0.50 and I don't receive any advice or link for a newer version.
