P: Motion not updating when values are entered manually (v26.1.1.032)

In Premiere Pro Beta v26.1.1.032 (released January 20, 2026), numeric input fields under Effect Controls → Motion are not responding when values are entered manually.

As shown in the attached image, when I click on a Motion parameter (such as Position, Scale, etc.), type a value manually, and press Enter, the value does not update. The field appears to get “stuck” and ignores the input.

The only way to recover from this state is to restart Premiere Pro.

Expected behavior:
Manually entered numeric values should be applied immediately when pressing Enter, just like in previous versions.

Actual behavior:

Manual numeric entry does nothing

Values do not change

UI appears responsive but input is ignored

Restarting the application is required to restore functionality

Additional notes:

Adjusting the same parameters using the slider works correctly

The issue only occurs with manual numeric input

This happens consistently and is fully reproducible

This behavior did not exist in earlier versions

This feels like a serious regression in basic UI input handling, and it significantly disrupts workflow. An urgent fix would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey all,

After updating to the latest Premiere Pro Beta (v26.1.1), a bunch of keyboard-based inputs stopped working for me. The text appears while typing, but the actual values never apply.

    Examples:

    • Renaming bins: I type a new name, but it stays as Bin XX

    • Effect Controls (Scale, Position, etc.): I can type numbers, but the values don’t change

    • Sequence settings: Same issue — I can type new ratios/values, but nothing updates

    • Effects panel search: Typing effect names doesn’t return any results

Mouse interactions still work, but anything that relies on keyboard input seems broken.

I’ve tried a few fixes I found online (resetting prefs, restarting, etc.), but they only work temporarily or not at all.

Has anyone else run into this? Any known fixes or workarounds would be hugely appreciated.

    Thanks!

    26.1.1 Beta Build 32

Items in the project panel can not be renamed on occasion. Sometimes I can rename a folder by creating a new one and then creating another new one and renaming the second one. If I try to rename an item, it sometimes goes back to its original name after pressing enter. I can sometimes get it to work by clicking around on different things and then trying again.

    Steps to reproduce:
        1. Open Premeiere Pro Project

        2.  Double click sequence

        3. Enter a name

        4. Hit enter

Result:  Sequence reverts to the original name
Expected: The sequence keeps the new name

    System info

Started immediately after updating to the latest premiere pro beta.

    Yes seen that too.

Build 32 is full of little bugs.

I reverted to the public v.26

I was trying to adjust the scale of my video by typing the number in but instead, it just stopped working and wouldn't let me scale the video.

    Hello,

Earlier this week (Mon & Tues 19 & 20 Jan 2026) I was working on a project in PPro. beta Then I took a couple of days off. I'm not sure what version PPro that was - I may have updated PPRo beta since then, but today Ioaded up that same project in PPro 26.1.1 Beta build 32. PPro immediately crashed, and I found the only way to load the project was to launch PPro, THEN open the project from the "recent projects" panel. Oh well, annoying but no big deal.

The first thing I wanted to do was duplicate them main sequence and rewname the new one with a newer version number. Weirdly, the only way I could get PPro to accept the new sequence name (I'd changed a 4 to a 5) was to tab out; pressing Enter or Return just moved the text focus down to the next item in the Project Panel and the sequence name reverted back to the "4" version. Again, annoying.

A bit later, I wanted to move a clip to the left, so I went to the Effect Controls panel and edited the Position's x value. (I clicked the value then hit shift-down arrow repeatedly to reduce it) The clip moved into its new position, and I hit Enter to confirm it. Nice. I then moved the CTI to a new location, back a few seconds and played it back. Huh? The clip is back in its old position! Ahhhh - PPro has ignored my input because I pressed Enter, not Tab! Ugh.

Stupidly, when I went to export the sequence, I typed in a new filename and pressed - once again, silly me - Enter, to confirm it. The clip exorted with an old filename because - you've guessed it, Pressing Tab is The Future, apparently.

Speed/duration editing is not working in Beta. I've tried multiple times to edit the speed with no luck. Tried re-importing the clip, no luck.

    Also having issues renaming clips.

estou modificando a velocidade de reproducao de um clipe, estou colocando valores diferentes e nao esta sendo alterado, esta mantendo a 100% de velocidade. Acabei de fazer atualizaçao da nova versao beta 26.1.1 build 32

Each time I try to rename a duplicate sequence in the timeline, it won't allow it. For example, "My_VideoProject_001" to "My_VideoProject_002". I type it in, push enter for the rename, the name remains the same. I've tried right clicking to bring up menu to "Rename", clicked it, re-typed what I wanted, pushed enter...does nothing, the original name remained the same.

When I input a new value into Effect Controls it doesn't allow me to confirm the change to the numeric value. On the rare occasion it allows to confirm it but its becoming a huge annoyance. Any fixes or is this a known issue?

I tryed to change it to 79 but pressing enter does nothing!

When I try to alter the scale of a video to 100% to lets say 110% and when I change the value manually meaning i click on the 100% number in the scale option and I manually type 110% the program doesnt register the command and I cannot resize the object i want. please fix this issue promptly because it is really affecting my professional workflow.
