Playhead not moving and premiere freezes up

I updated to 25.6
I am able to edit and do what i need to though the playhead is stubborn about following along when video is playing. Sometimes I will hit play and it will run and when I try to stop it it will continue to run and become unresponsive for some time. The computer has had no issue handling up until this version.
