Premiere AI Assistant beta usage limits are too low for meaningful real-world testing

I appreciate Adobe providing complimentary AI Assistant usage during the Premiere beta. However, the current usage limits are so restrictive that they are preventing me from meaningfully testing the product.

In my case, I exhausted the available Assistant capacity within essentially one day of working on a relatively simple project: a roughly 108-second sequence made up of 433 still images. This was not a heavy post-production project involving multicam footage, complex audio, large amounts of video analysis or sophisticated compositing. Much of the work was repetitive timeline editing and applying straightforward effect settings.

During that single project I encountered a per-response tool-call limit, a daily limit and ultimately a weekly processing limit. Once the weekly limit was reached, I could no longer continue testing the Assistant at all.

I understand why Adobe needs limits during a public beta and I appreciate that the usage is complimentary. But a limit this low undermines the purpose of beta testing. It encourages users to test only small or artificial tasks rather than discovering how the Assistant behaves during realistic editing workflows.

I think Adobe would learn substantially more by allowing beta users to reach much higher usage levels, or by offering an opt-in high-usage testing tier. That would expose the Assistant to realistic project lengths, repeated operations, recovery from interruptions, long agent workflows and the kinds of edge cases that only appear after sustained use.

I would strongly recommend:

  • Substantially increasing the daily and rolling 7-day limits during the beta.
  • Providing a visible usage meter showing remaining daily and weekly capacity.
  • Showing exactly when capacity will become available again.
  • Clearly distinguishing daily credits, weekly agent-processing limits and per-task/tool-call limits.
  • Considering an opt-in extended-testing quota for users willing to provide detailed beta feedback.
  • At the current limits, I can see considerable potential in the AI Assistant, but I cannot use it long enough to test that potential properly. I would rather find the Assistant’s real technical limits through actual editing than have the experiment end because an artificial quota was reached first.

For a beta product, sustained real-world usage is valuable test data. I would encourage Adobe to let beta testers generate more of it.

Thank you all for the great feedback. The context shared on what you are aiming to do, the project state, and what the AI Assistant got wrong is super helpful for us as we can build internal tests that mirror those scenarios and make sure to optimize the AI Assistant to support those workflows. The more details, the better, so thank you again!

During the beta period, there is a daily and weekly limit. These are rolling limits, so capacity “frees up” 24 hours or 7 days after it is consumed by usage. Everything you do with the AI Assistant consumes the weekly quota from prompts to tool calls to the operations those tools do on your timeline, project panel, etc. This is correlated to processing time, but processing time specifically does not consume the quota. There is no difference in quota between account types.

For now, there is no way to opt into or pay for higher usage limits. We can explore options here and appreciate the willingness to lean in. We do closely monitor how many users are hitting this limited and in the past few days, increased it to try and minimize the number of users hitting the quota limit. So worth trying again if you haven’t in the past week!

    Thank you for the reply.

It would be super cool if we would be allowed to bring our own agents as well. Some of use have good systems and run local models other use Claude and gpt. Currently the only workaround is the MCP servers but there are many known and acknowledged bugs by staff making the MCP almost non usable as well and many items such as text and transcript that arnt exposed to QEM or scripting API. So allow using choice to use your AI or bring their own would put you guys way ahead of the curve on other editing software.

I had it do 3 tasks. It did the first 2 correctly and the 3rd was totally wrong. Then it argued with me and said it was correct before apologizing. When I asked it to correct the mistakes it said “you’ve reached your daily limit”

Like well thanks for screwing up the timeline then running out of credits.
    Was not a great experience.

    For context.
    17 minute video clip.
I asked it to scan through and cut all silence gaps of 1.5 seconds and longer and color them red. (I chose red instead of ripple delete because I’ve seen this tool delete actual audio before and I wanted to grade its work before manually deleting them)
It went through and did a good job for the most part. Missed a few and overcut 2 spots. I asked it to make another pass with 1.0 second threshold it did.

Then I asked it to review the transcript for clear mistakes where speaker restarts their line and cut the mistake line and color it tan so I can see all mistakes and verify manually. This is where it messed up. It cut mistakes and injected them into random places in the timeline cutting off video that was already present and then put a bunch of clips off in the distance way after the end of my 17 minute clip. When I asked why it did that and sent a picture it argued with me claiming it never did anything of the such then I sent another picture and it apologized.

Was a bit surprised to run out of credits after only 20 minutes. This tool is not even closely usable for any serious workflow or video editing at its current limits. If you have a project with hours of footage like wedding or vlog this would get you about 5 minutes into the footage before you're out of credits.

Would be great if I could plug my own Claude or GPT subscription here as well. Currently I use MCP instead because it gets far greater usage out of it. However ½ the MCP tools made available by Adobe don’t even work and have been acknowledged on Reddit by Adobe employees as “known issues” that haven’t been fixed for years.

I’m hitting the same limitation in a real production environment.

I’m using Premiere Pro (Beta) AI Assistant with a Creative Cloud Student/Education account for a professional multicamera television workflow.

My current project has more than 6 hours of synchronized source material, with V1 + A1–A8 audio tracks, repeated takes, studio segments, VTR/VO recordings, and multiple episodes assembled from one master sequence.

The Assistant has been genuinely useful. For example, I successfully used it to preserve and reorganize hundreds of synchronized timeline items, including a 35-block episode assembly across V1 and eight audio tracks.

    However, I eventually received:

“You’ve reached your weekly usage limit.”

This makes it impossible to continue a realistic long-form editing test.

I would especially like Adobe to clarify:

    • Is the weekly limit different for Student/Education accounts?
    • What exactly consumes the weekly quota: prompts, tool calls, timeline operations, processing time, or another metric?
    • When exactly does the weekly quota reset?
    • Can beta testers request a higher testing quota?
    • Is there any supported paid or opt-in high-usage tier for Premiere AI Assistant?

I am not asking for a workaround to bypass the limits. I would like an official way to obtain a higher testing allowance because this tool has real potential for professional long-form post-production, but the current quota prevents us from testing it at production scale.

I can provide screenshots, sequence details, and reproducible workflow examples if useful.
