Premiere Beta 25.3 force close when Insta360 plugin is installed

Hi, since Build 4 (I think) I'm having the issue that Premiere is force-closing when the Insta360 plugin is installed. I know everything was working fine in the 25.3 B3 build.

Premiere just disappears when it reads in (mostly) R3D files. Not all the time though, but seems on a heavy workload when a larger project is opened. Sometimes a project with a mid-sized timeline is enough though.

It does not even have to touch the .insv files from the 360 camera. I even encounter the error in projects without any .insv files at all.

Once I remove the Insta360 plugin from the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore folder it works fine again.

Since the plugin was working fine previously I think the problem is in something you changed in one of the earlier builds.

Not sure how to help debug further at this point, but as of now I cannot use insv files in Premiere directly since I need to remove the plugin to be able to work.

Definitely contact them; our partners test in beta builds as well, and may be better positioned to provide us with actionable issue reports.

Hi,

I've now re-sent the email with the old .dmp file, but feel free to send me a link to an upload space.

"Problem" is my issue has kinda shifted now. I've since upgraded to an RTX 5090 (3090 before) and the issue is now not a crash, but "stopping to relink footage" on project open. Not sure that'd even show up in the logs.

I have not contacted Insta360 since this only happens on the beta, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't care at this point. Since I can turn on/off this behavior by switching between beta and stable it must be something that changed on your side.

I didn't get your mail. I can set up some private upload space...?

Have you contacted Insta360?

Did you ever get around to my Email?

Issue isn't resolved, but has somehow morphed. With the latest Beta (25.4.0b3) and the latest Insta360 Plugin (5.6.1) I'm not even getting to editing. On project open it hangs at 7% of "Relinking" my files. It specifically hangs at the same R3D file every time I open this project. The file itself is perfectly fine as it can be read once I remove the plugin. Also there are not even any Insta360 files in the project....

So:

- Project hangs at loading media
- Removing the Insta360 plugin OR switching back to the latest stable BOTH fix the problem individually.

Can't really get to editing to find out if there are any crashes, since my media won't even load properly..

Hey,

I found a .dmp file in the reports folder. How can I safely get that to you, I don't know how much personal information is in that file.

The program instantly force closes consistently on multiple of the projects I have here, but only when the Insta360 plugin is installed. One of those projects contains timelines of a production and has no insv files referenced in it.

I have the latest version installed (5.5.3), had a previous version installed before I opened this bug report, but updated to make sure this wasn't fixed somehow already.

Hi Christian,

That problem sounds very strange!

We've received no crash reports with your email address; those would help.

Do you have a project  w/media, which reliably reproduces the problem?

What version of Insta360 Studio do you have installed? [Current version = 5.5.3]
