Premiere Beta 26.5 color mode EXTREMELY SLOW

I have been editing my projects with the official release (26.3) and opening them on Premiere Beta to do the color grade using the new Color mode (saving the project with a new name so I can still open the ungraded project on the official release if something happens). The color mode recently became unusable. It is very very very slow. Every click on a tool takes seconds to open the scope and then it takes a few seconds to show any change when I move the mouse. I noticed I was using the 26.5 version. I tried for hours but got very frustrated and installed the previous beta version (26.3) and I’m once again able to grade my footage. It’s slow but workable.

I don’t know what happened with the 26.5 version but I hope it gets fixed so I can use the latest version.

Thanks for reporting this — a clear 26.3 vs 26.5 comparison is very helpful, and we’re looking into it.

To narrow this down, could you share a few details when you have a moment?

Exact Beta build numbers from Help → About for both installs (the slow 26.5 build and the 26.3 build that feels OK)
Your OS, CPU, GPU, RAM, and monitor setup (single vs multiple displays)

Sequence resolution, frame rate, and codec (e.g. H.264, HEVC, ProRes)
    Approximate clip count
Whether the project uses Lumetri, NCX / Color Mode adjustments, LUTs, masks, etc.
Whether you’re grading on proxy or full-resolution media
Which Color tools/modules feel slowest (Color & Contrast, Color Shift, LUT, Vignette, etc.)

Is the Scopes panel open when this happens?
If yes, which scope types are you using (waveform, vectorscope, parade, etc.) and what layout?

A short side-by-side screen recording of the same project and the same action on 26.3 vs 26.5 — for example: switch to Color Mode, open a tool/scopes, then adjust a control with the mouse for a few seconds

Optional (if you’re willing) - A copy of the project (or a reduced version) and logs, via Adobe’s secure upload if we send you a link

Sorry for the trouble — we know how frustrating this is when you’re in the middle of a grade. Even partial answers help a lot.

    Regards,
    Satish

I tried the 26.5 version released today (25th of june) and it has the same issue. Once again I had to uninstall it and install the 26.3 version.

I installed the newest version (26.5 build 38, released on the 19th of this month) and I’m sad that it’s still extremely slow. I will once again uninstall it and go back to the 26.3 version. This is making me worried that every new 26.5 version will have the same problem that makes it so slow that it is unusable.
