Project Bins - Searchus Interruptus

When I'm in a bin, say my sound fx bin, and I start to type in the Search bar in the upper left, say the work "fast" I only get the "f" and "a" before it starts to show results and then blocks me out of typing more.

Steps to reproduce:
    1. ...Open a bin. Start to type in the Search filed.
 
Result: ...You only get the first few letters of your search and it cuts you off and shows results for just the forst couple letters.
Expected: ...Either it lets me type the whole word and hit Return, then do the search. Or it dynamicaly searches as I type but doesn't shut me out of typing.
