Text Panel Export CSV and TXT Omit Text and Layer Information

Edit 12/18/25: I corrected the original post to say that this change occurred AFTER 25.5.0. I downgraded and checked this today. As of today, there is no change in Beta 26.1.1.4.

Original post:

Sometime after release 25.5.0, the text panel csv and txt imports changed, mostly to mimic transcript export. This has been partly corrected by Beta 26.1.0.2. Build 10 is messed up, and I do not have access to Build 12 yet, where those issues are fixed.

See this regular forum report:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/there-is-a-problem-with-the-text-tab-export-to-csv/td-p/15613541

I tested in 24.6.5, 25.6.3, and Beta 26.1.0.2. I looked at captions, graphics text, and captions upgraded to graphics. I can provide the detailed results.

My summary conclusions are:

25.6.3 csv caption export header adds Speaker as field 1 and removes Layer ID as last field. This has been corrected in Beta 26.1.0.2 or before.
25.6.3 csv caption export content gives a blank speaker, no block ID, and omits the extra block. Beta 26.1.0.2 corrects the speaker and lists the block ID, but omits the extra block.
25.6.3 csv graphics export header adds Speaker as field 1 and removes Video Track and Layer ID as last 2 fields. Beta correctly removes Speaker, but adds back only Layer ID, and still omits Video Track.
25.6.3 csv graphics export content includes only one layer for each instance, omitting the lower layer for new graphics/type tool and the upper layer for upgrade to graphics caption, and also omits video track # and layer #. Beta adds the layer ID, but omits layers and omits video track #.
Txt exports are consistent with those issues.
Transcript csv and txt exports are unaffected.

Steps to reproduce for caption; similar issues are present for graphics tab export:
1 - Create a caption and add an additional block to the segment.

2 - Export as csv.

Result:  The header includes Speaker and no block ID. The data includes no Block ID # and the text for the block is omitted.
Expected: The Header would be as provided in earlier versions and include Block ID and text for added blocks.

Hello all, I am having an issue exporting titles to .txt or .csv.

    Please see supporting images attached.

Premiere Pro Version 25.6 (Build 2)

    Windows 11 Pro

I am using MOGRTs with multiple lines of text. You can see all the text in the Graphics panel. When saving to txt or csv it is not including every line of text. See Excel screenshot of the csv. Results are the same with the .txt format. I'm sure I've had this working ok in the past. What am I doing wrong?

This has real value to me and should be saving time to export titles but this is going to cost time in extracting the text manually.

    Thanks for your help!

    Ben

    @Demand Marketing,

    Upvoted. See this discussion thread:

And this bug report in the Beta forum:

This started after 25.5.0. I see no workarounds other than a) working in 25.5.0 or earlier or b) opening the project in an earlier version and exporting csv/txt from there. You can still install PR 24.x and keep it along with PR 25.x. You would have to downgrade the project version to open in PR 24, but I think captions/graphics text would be correct for doing the exports.

I downgraded from PR 25.6.3 to 25.5.0 to test it, and plan to upgrade to 25.6.3. I did not take "too" long to do that. But I keep older versions, and downgrading the project is not difficult. So I'd go with using 24.6.x.

Since there was a little jump in the version number (and the problem with transcription was fixed), I'll report that this is unchanged in Beta 26.1.1 Build 3.

I now have 26.1.0.12 and tested only csv for captions, graphics, and upgraded captions. No change.
