timeline freezes constantly through a project

It's been frozen with color correction.  It's froze during essential sound adjusting.  It now randomly freezes constantly.  I've deleted cache files, plenty of room on both computer and T9 SSD drive with a good cable.  Photoshop and lightroom are running lightning quick with both Macbook Pro Max 1 computer and T9 drive,so I doubt those are the issue.

    Hi,

Do you see this with a specific project or are you able to reproduce this with more than one? Could you give me more details about the media used in the project(s)? It will help if we can get a screen recording of your problem, as Dacia suggests.

If it is a specific project, the project file (with media, if possible) will help us immensely.

    That's rough @jhhammond I'm so sorry.

It sounds like it's def a color issue and I'm going to share this point with one of the color team members to reach out to you.

Can you confirm that you are still seeing this issue when you turn the Media Visual Analysis preference off for me to just cleanly knock it off the list of suspects?

    Thanks so much,

just had tech support jump into my computer and delete all my preferences, presets, etc. attempt to clean out any corrupted files and told me there was nothing that could be done.  I could export my project in XML format and lose all the effects, color grading etc on my project that took me days to complete.  The color grading AI feature in Beta imo is most likely the culprit of this and now in order to complete or salvage what I have left to finish I make an adjustment, close the program and repeat....fun stuff

    Hi @DaciaSaenz,

Thanks for looking into this.  It really happens a lot lately in The Color Grading Window and with any color grading tool, whether it's a slider or anything going deeper.

I'm running a M1 Max processor on my macbook pro, 32 GB (26GB free and set aside for Premiere Pro), OS Sequoia 15.2, Running the project off a Seagate T9 (with usb c cord in great condition) linking to a LG Ultrafine display using thunderbolt.  This has only started happening since the updated version of Premiere Pro came out.  25.1 and on and off with Beta versions.  Color is definitely the main issue that triggers freezing with this project though. I uploaded a log when I first posted and will do another.

    Hi @jhhammond

I'd love to help you get to the bottom of things.
    First things first...

    • Can you please share your system specs, GPU, and OS version?
    • Can you reproduce this issue in the latest release version of Premiere Pro 25.1
    • Can you please share a log so devs can take a peek for any suspicious clues?
      • Start an app session
      • Get into the bad playback state
      • Navigate to Help > Reveal Log Files and send those files over.
    • Screen Recordings also help a great deal to be able to see what panels you have open, etc

Out of curiosity, have you tried the new Media Intelligence feature

    • Can you please go into Prefs > Media Intelligence & Transcripts and turn Visual Analysis off by unchecking the box?
    •

    • Does this improve playback?

Thanks for reporting this issue and for any further detail you can provide,
