Transcribing a French video results in Asian characters being displayed. I've tried to re-transcribe multiple times. Tried using in - out and transcribing. Tried copying the clips to another sequence, but the transcription followed.
It looks like the issue is resolved. (I think) I have some more French videos to transcribe. I always choose the language and don't let it auto-detect. My French language package was already downloaded at the time of transcribing.
I am Win 11 Beta 26.0.0 Build 30. A transcription of a French sample shows regular characters for me.
I transcribed by right-clicking in the Project Panel and picked French as the language. Do you have autodetect language set in preferences by any chance?
Unrelated to your issue, I just noted that, when viewed in the Transcript tab, it appears to be transcribing and gives an estimated time. In the Progress panel, however, it shows that it is actually on the step of downloading the language pack. When complete, it shows "transcoding on device" and resets the percent.
