Hi I hope that you're well, I'm new to CEP in Indesign (and in general) I am slightly confused to where i put the latter part of my script. I have put this into the bottom of my index.html file, but I'm not sure if this is the right place. At the moment creating an instance of CSInterface is working and I get the message it has been logged (I have done this for debugging purposes) and when the button is clicked I get the messgae it worked, however, the openDocument() function doesn't run. And when I write it through the console I get the error app not defined. At the end of the script execution, I need to open the created folder in Bridge.Opens the selected folder, file:app.document.chooseMenuItem('Open');Opens a folder in the system explorer:Folder(myPath).execute();Opens a folder in a new Bridge window:app.browseTo(myPath);How can I open the folder/path in Bridge in the same window using javascript?  

I am trying to download images from a URL link to a folder path with a Cyrillic name using Adobe Bridge scripting. Example: var localImgPath = 'C:/Users/serge/Desktop/Привіт світ/new-img.png'; var imageUrl = 'https://www.wikipedia.org/portal/wikipedia.org/assets/img/Wikipedia-logo-v2.png'; app.system('curl -o "' + localImgPath + '" "' + imageUrl + '" pause'); Error:But if the path to the saved file is entirely in Latin, the file is successfully saved. And if I write a cmd line with a Cyrillic path, it also works. curl -o "C:/Users/serge/Desktop/Привіт світ/new-img.png" "https://www.wikipedia.org/portal/wikipedia.org/assets/img/Wikipedia-logo-v2.png" Adobe Bridge passes incorrect path. Hi,I've come across an issue with Extendscript Debugger :All was working fine like 4 month ago with ED, and today as i was going back to coding on a work in progress, i was unable to launch a script from VS code :my launch.json seems ok, .debug too, i'm targeting the good App...And all i get is Debugger running with no effect, without executing any line of my code. Until i finally stop the debug session clicking the stop button. It manages to launch the App if closed, it's a good start... But that's all...I'm working under Mojave,on indesign extensions.Debugger is V 1.1.2vs code is V 1.45.1Got any idea ?i couldn't find any information about this problem.Sounds like a debugger configuration problem but all was working fine 3 month ago...(Before anyone asks : i've reduced code to a simple alert for testing purpose and it didn't trigger...)Thanks.Adrien

I have a variable that I’ve targeted by means of using for loops and if statements.And, I happen to know it’s a sequence.But, from what I know of ExtendScript (and it’s not that much), I’m under the impression I’d need the sequenceID of the sequence this variable is holding in order to open it or clone it - or whatever. The thing is, I’m trying to work in a way that I’m just altering sequences based on the fact that they live in a particular bin. Hi!I have a workflow I'd love to implement using Creative Cloud APIs, but I'm unsure if it's possible and am having trouble figuring out an answer after searching through the different APIs on adobe.io or the documentation on the I/O Developer Console. Here's what I would like to build: when a button is pressed, files on a local directory are uploaded to Adobe Creative Cloud storage, and an invitation to collaborate/share those files is automatically sent to another user in the organization. I like that I can send invitations through Creative Cloud that, when accepted, can automatically sync files to another user's local storage - however, being able to automate parts of that process would save my organization a lot of time. I read about the possibility of using webhooks to register when an asset is uploaded to Creative Cloud, but the feature seems to be deprecated. I'm not able to find information about whether the feature has been replaced or is at all still functional, and am n

 I recently moved to a new workstation and cannot Target an Adobe Application using VSCode and Extendscript Debugger. The workstaton previously had CS 6 installed on it, but now we use CC. I'm using Ilustrator 2019. I can target Illustrator 2019:Illustrator 2019 shows up in the bar along the bottomBut, then when I run the DeBugger it says CS 6 isn't running and I can't run CC2019?Using MacOS 10.12.6 VSCode 1.50.1 ExtendscriptDebugger 1.1.2

Hi all,When I am developing various web forms, I just realized it would be quite handy to have a browser plug-in that could auto fill / populate various web forms that I am working on. Mostly I am working on Mac using either Safari or Firefox or chrome. I see there are a number of add-ons that might work. In my case, it would be great to have some kind of an add-on / browser plug-in that could fill in the various fields for a particular URL. It would be great to be able to store multiple uRLs always different Fields and data. Question: is there some kind of a developers add-on that could handle this kind of form auto fill? Thanks in advance,Dave

Hey there, I am working on some ideas for a script. I decided to use php includes for my static html website. The footer.php includes the javascript, but I don't need certain scripts to load unneccesarily on different pages, obviously. It's been awhile but, what are my options to avoid this? Thanks

So I'm currently working on adding support for both Photoshop and Illustrator and in doing so my codebase started to get a bit messy. So I started refactoring it down to multiple files to make it cleaner and maintainable.  So I've learned that I need to use $.evalFile('path/to/.jsx/'). So far so good. And this seems to work as exptected in Photoshop.However I can't seem to access app.activeDocument in Illustrator in the separate .jsx file.  Does anyone have any good advice for setting up a good stucture with multiple jsx files that works across adobe applications? Any good source for reading about this?  Would love to learn more about how this works and what the "best practices" are for bigger code bases.  Thanks,Mike

Hi,i'm writing a CEP panel for indesign, and as i couldn't manage to JSON.parse my data string, i erased my code to test JSON with these 2 short lines in my index.js file :var jsonTest=JSON.parse("{'test':'ok'}");alert(jsonTest.test);Could someone tell me why this doesn't give me any result ?script is running (i tested with an alert() before the variable declaration) butalert(jsonTest.test) isn't triggered.(JSON is written in "variable color"... It migth be a clue as it should be green like any other global object... when i write it, it is green for a sec before it turns blue... Conflict somewhere ?) Thanks fo reading.

Hi,  Trying to get familiar with javaScript coding for Photoshop. Reading the documents a lot. However, quick question. Is there any good tutorial on how to create / draw a new simple rectangle to the document? In Illustrator I find it very easy, but only examples I find for Photoshop is to manually draw out a path with coordinates for each point. Maybe this is the way to go? Want to see if there's any easier way to go with a simple shape like a rectangle.  Thanks,Mike

Howdy!I receive large pdf files (2500-3500 pages) consisting of repair orders of varying legnth(1-8 pages). At the bottom of each repair order (RO's) is a field that uses the words, "Total Amount Due" or "Please Pay This Amount." (RO's come from 4 diff companies and each is slightly different). I need to find only the RO's that have a dollar amount. It will read $0.00 for or be blank if no customer cash was collected. Hence, I need to find any RO with an amount >=$0.01. I have no JavaScript skill at all. Looking for direction.   

I am working on a mantinance work order form. I have a drop down list of part numbers. I have a field next to the drop down list lets call it (field A). What I would like is that if the drop down list is showing a part number the field A would display the word "Replaced". But if the drop down is blank field A would stay blank. Is there a way to do this with out writing a script with every part number in it for field A?

Hi,  I'm currently developing extensions for Photoshop and Illustrator with CEP. For some reason I can't get the browser debugger to work. I've followed the steps in the documents, changed the reggistry to enable debugging, made sure the manifest is correct as well as the .debug file. I've placed my extension at "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\CEP\extensions\my-extension" for development.  So going to localhost:8088 on my browser (Chrome and new Edge) when I run Photoshop and the extension does nothing.  Am I missing any steps?

Changing font styles on the fly has always been a PIA in Adobe programs. Because of the support for multiple font styles (a good thing), you can't just CTRL+b for bold, for example, and there isn't currently (to my knowledge) any other keyboard shortcut for changing font style. I'd like to set up scripts to switch font style. But I'd rather not have a separate script for every common style name--that would eat up way too many keyboard shortcuts. Is there any way via script to select the next/previous style--without using style names? That way, I could have one Previous Style and one Next Style script, and use those to quickly iterate between styles. For example, I might run Previous Style twice in a row to switch from Medium to Regular (Medium > Italic > Regular). I personally use Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and I'd be interested in scrips for any of them.

Is it possible to access the menu function 'smart punctuation' under the type menu in extendscript. I'd like to automate the process of changing intelligent quote marks in illustrator. Its been a while since I visited the whole forum structure seem to have changed

Hi all,Weird issue...   I've built an ExternalObject library for Windows and Mac to be loaded from InDesign ExtendScript.   It's using the curl library to do some https access from a remote server.Anyway, works great on MY machine in Windows and Mac.  I can't get it to load on other machines in Mac.    Even with ExternalObject.log = true, all it says is "ExtObj: load error!".I've tried several versions of ID, all the way back to ID 6, and CC2015.  (Works on all of the above on my PC).My PC is Windows 10 32bit running on a VM on my Mac.   Other machines I've tried this on have been a Windows 10 PC (64 bit), and on another Mac VM Windows 10 32 bit.My first suspicion is that there is a missing DLL dependency.  I've used dumpbin to review the dependent DLL's and they all seem to be present.  I wrote a stub program that loads the DLL library and calls a function and that functions on all platforms - so it's able to load the DL

I'm trying to create fields that are filled in sequence from an existing list of items that are selected by checkboxes.  I need an item to fill the first field in the colum, unless it already contains data, if so, I need it to use the next field, and so on.  I have a list of nearly 100 items that could potentially be selected. I had limited success using an action builder in LiveCycle Designer and am able to duplicate data from the list into a form, but not to fill fields in sequence.  If I select items 1, 8, and 15 from the list, or any other combination of items, I need it to fill in fields 1, 2, 3, etc. on my form.  Hoping someone can help me with a JavaScript that would work for this.  I'm thinking that the fields would need to adjust if an item is unselected as well.  I am currently using checkboxes to trigger the items in the list.

Hi there,Please can someone point me in the right direction.I've put together some JS that reads a list of pdfs from a text form field.For each file in the list a master pdf is opened, pages replaced and then the pdf is saved to a folder.Paths to the files are set up with - var pathToThis = this.path.replace(this.documentFileName,""); which gives me the base location.The code works fine in the JavaScript Debugger however when I take the code and add it to a button mouse up trigger it fails.I've also tried putting the JS into a document level script but still it fails.Is there some other way I can execute the JS outside of the Debugger? I was thinking of creating a custom menu item but I'm not sure if that would work.Please can someone help?Thanks in advance.

This is my first attempt at creating a dialog box using the "resource specification" method. Basically, I want the script to stop if the user clicks Cancel or continue if the user clicks OK. My function that handles the "OK to continue" always returns 0. I'm looking to write scripts for Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop.  I've written these before but it's been about a year since I last did any coding for CC products.  I've noticed that there is no longer an extend script toolkit included with Created Cloud. And the download button for Adobes ExtendScript webpage does not work.  The only place I was able to get a copy of ExtendScript was from the Adobe Archives. I haven't tested it out yet, but I assume the archived software will get the job done for now.  Moving forward how are we supposed to create scripts for Adobe Applications?
