I am having issues trying to install Coldfusion 2016 32-bit on Windows 2016. I can get the executable to run but it completes with errors. It looks like it only partially installs. There is nothing in the install error log that is helpful (or I don't understand it). We are loading 32-bit because we require 'MS Access with Unicode' for a datasource. We are migrating Coldfusion 2016 32-bit from Windows 2008 version where it installed fine. Is there something about Windows 2016 where this won't install? If someone has done this successfully, that would be helpful information.
I’m reasearching how to incorporate a SAML integration into a CF app. The bigger picture is an external Active Directory source, SAML to a CF app with its own user management. Any info is helpful.
Are there any open-source reporting tools that you can recommend for coldfusion and or Mysql. I have been using CFreport builder for over a year now but i'm looking for another alternative that's more current and user-friendly.
I have created a new Windows Server 2016 and installed ColdFusion 2018 on it. Everything was working. Next I started going through the lockdown guide. I got to the part about running the auto lockdown tool (section 2.6). The tool ran fine but when I was reviewing folder permissions and other IIS settings I was not seeing everything that it should have done. After carefully looking through the log file I found that it encountered an error and then started rolling back changes. Now I have an unstable server with a mix of settings. The log file seems to indicate that it failed when attempting to change the logon user for the additional ColdFusion services. Well I did not install the additional services as we don't need them. I guess the tool is not smart enough to bypass that and so it failed. Why?Here is an excerpt from the log file:2019-03-28 12:22:23 INFO - Folder permissions changed!2019-03-28 12:22:23 INFO - Successfully setu

Updating ColdFusion 9 For TLS 1.2 Usage We are using ColdFusion 9.0.1 with jdk 1.7.0_75 version. We have to use TLS 1.2 in our systems. We have tried:Added -Dhttps.protocols=TLSv1.2 line to JRun4 > bin > jmv.config file.Installed jdk1.8.0_172 - jdk1.8.0_221 versions and changed JRun4 > bin > jmv.config > java.home path. After that when i want to open web page, opens empty page. It is empty between body tags. There is no error. I have read an article linked below, i can use ColdFusion 9 with Java 8 without problem. Here is the Stackoverflow link:https://stackoverflow.com/questions/50767125/server-and-jre-are-set-to-tls-1-2-but-coldfusion-9-still-trying-to-use-tls-1-0?noredirect=1&lq=1 Infact, question is simple. How can we use ColdFusion 9 with TLS 1.2. My OS Windows 2008 Server R2, running on Vmware and JRE 8 installed already. Thanks for you replies.
Occasionally, we run into this error while running queries with 1 million + records. We would like to make sure we have optimum settings in place to minimise the possibility of this happening. I'm a coder, used to working with a specialist server guy who takes care of server-related issues. However, it looks like I finally need to get properly up to speed on all this because I don't have this luxury now.I've included some details of our setup below. Can someone suggest some basic first steps to making sure things are configured as well as possible?Java Settings in CF Administrator:Minimum JVM Heap Size: 2048Maximum JVM Heap Size: 3072JVM Arguments:-server -Dsun.rmi.dgc.client.gcInterval=86400000 -Dsun.rmi.dgc.server.gcInterval=86400000 -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:NewSize=96m -XX:MaxNewSize=256m -XX:SurvivorRatio=6 -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -XX:PermSize=256m -Dcoldfusion.home={application.home} -Dorg.eclipse.jetty.util.log.class=org.eclipse.jetty.util.log.JavaUtilLog -Duser.language=en -Dcoldfusion
Greetings,A co-worker is trying to use cfftp to transfer a file between two computers. The code they have written connects to the remote machine "Connection Open? Yes", in the desired remote location, and displays the content in the remote location. However, attempts to "put" a file fail with an "Access is Denied" error. This process can be successfully performed, using the same credentials, with WinSCP. "Passive=yes" and "no" have been tried. This is on CF2018 Standard, connecting to IIS 10 on WS2019 Standard Ed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.TIA,Scott
CFBuilder 2018 will not launch on my Mac. I receive the following error:I tried opening from the command line with the '-clean' argument using: /Applications/ColdFusionBuilder2018/CFBuilder.app/Contents/MacOS/CFBuilder -cleanThis gives the following error: 'Segmentation fault: 11'Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Hello, all,This question is most likely for the Adobe Dev Team to answer, if any of them have time. But if anyone else knows the answer, please respond.I was doing some research into functions and arguments, and on the Adobe Help Center page for functions and arguments it states that if a function is created using CFFUNCTION, then an 'empty slot' is automatically created for each argument, in case any of them are optional. However, if a function is created within CFSCRIPT, then no 'empty slots' are created, and if an argument is not supplied it will error out as undefined. So, I'm curious as to why the two work differently from each other. If, within a CFSCRIPT environment, I want arguments to be optional I have to param them. But not in a CFFUNTION context.Just curious.V/r,^ _ ^
Anyone have a good solution for a dark theme in CFBuilder 2016? I see there is a dark theme built in but the code itself becomes almost unreadable.
Here is a short usage survey from Adobe ( https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZJLKHKR ) to understand about your usage of Adobe ColdFusion features across the applications within your organization. Filling up the survey will only take a few minutes your time and the data that we capture here is really important for us here at Adobe.Thank you for your time. here is the link again *https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZJLKHKR*
Recently I learned that the major browsers will stop supporting Flash-driven apps. So I need an alternative to the existing CF flash-based multi-image upload tool. Not looking to hard code. Hopefully, there is a similar app to use.<cffileupload name = "uploadDemo" url="uploadfiles10.cfm?folderid=#getfolder.folderid#" progressbar="true" addButtonLabel = "Select File(s)" clearButtonLabel = "Clear" width="500" height="400" title="Multiple Image Upload Tool" maxUploadSize="100" maxFileSelect="25" extensionfilter="*.jpg" uploadButtonLabel="Upload" >
I have been developing in ColdFusion for over seven years, and have never encountered this; I'm hoping someone else has and can help. I'm running a scheduled task that gets a query of 15,000 email addresses from the database, loops through that query, and for each record queues up an email to be sent. While the process is running, the following error is reported in the application.log in the ColdFusion Administator: "Java heap space". Additionally, last night I saw the following error: "GC overhead limit exceeded". These caused the task to abort, and only 1500 or so of the emails were sent. Can anyone offer some advice as to how to correct this? Thank you in advance.
Hello community, I am having some issues when trying to get some files from an FTP site. This is the situation:I need to be able to connect to the FTP, list the files (all XML), read them and then save their contents into a DB table. So far I can connect, I can read the files. This part is ok when I test in my own FTP/Coldfusion server. However, the real scenario is different: files are in a different server server. So From my server I CFFTP to this server, I list the files and it works great. But in order to read the XML files I need to get them first to my local machine and from it to upload it to my server where I have ColdFusion. Once there I can do whatever I want. But I can't get the files. So this is what I do:1. I open the connection.2. I list its contents and while I loop, I do the getFile:So I have no error and the files are listed on screen, but no file is saved on my Desktop:Any idea what could I be doing wrong?Thank you!
I am trying to learn how to post data to an external site using JSON. The example the vendor gave me looks like this:curl -XPOST --data '{"audioLevel": 50, "url": "http://some-stream.de/"}' http://TheirURL.com:7000/device/00:08:e1:06:c5:39/sendFrom doing some research I think I need to make an array, the SerializeJSON the array then use CFHTTP to send it. I can't find anything that explains the curl -XPOST --data I am struggling to try to wrap my head around this. Would appreciate any pointers. Thanks,Gary
Ok, migrating from CF11 to CF18 ... and with database with unsynched tables ... so I expect errors. With CF1 to CF11 I used application.log to find any errors in AJAX areas (CFCOMPONENT) Hitting bugs and no where does it show errors. Where are they?Wow, several hours into CF18 and I loathe it. Change for the sake of change. Feels like WIndows 8. UI is suddenly off the charts different. Might well downgrade.
I am a bit lost on how to get the data out of a structure created from deserializeJSON. I am trying for example to set Results = data / array1 / doc / m.So along the lines of <cfset results = #data.doc.m[1]#> but that's not right... What's the proper way to do this? When I dump the results the look like:
We have a ColdFusion application that is currently authenticating external users using an ADLDS database. This app does both authentication of external users and authorization of requested rights with internal users. We would like to switch this to Azure B2C or B2B. Our internal users are already in Azure AD since we are Office365 customers. Can this be made to work directly from ColdFusion?
I have recently submitted a ticket regarding this issue, but not sure of the response time so I would like to query other developers. The extends attribute path of the CFComponent seems to be caching on the server level the first request being made. Instead of just creating an error for the requested application, every application that uses dot notation extending the same path fails. The error message returned is:"The .test.componentC ColdFusion component or interface name, used to extend or implement the test.componentA component is invalid. Ensure that the file exists, that the name does not start or end with a period (.), and the name is not an empty string."The issues occurs after installing CF2018 Update 4, seems to be related to the fix https://tracker.adobe.com/#/view/CF-4204108The details are in Tracker , but basically if you have two components with one extending using dot notation and the other using "/", it seems the path of the first component loaded is being cached. In this
Is there a practical limit to file sizes?Specifically .cfc. My entire application is using ajax saving, URL free screen rendering and I have 3 or 4 cfc's ... but each one is growing to over 5,000 lines of code. Is there a limit to file sizes? To what CFBuilder can handle. I see CFBuilder slowing down. I realize, of course, that CFC's never leave the server but still ...
I can't get Code Assist to work for ColdFusion tags only. When you type "<" the code assist box pops up with html tags. Type "c" and the list reduces to tags beginning with "c." But as soon as you type the "f," the box closes.Hitting ctrl-space or space in any tag, including ColdFusion tags, causes code assist to open with "Global Attributes" but not with ColdFusion parameters. Hitting ctrl-space while the box is open closes the Code Assist Box.In the Window/Preferences/Code Assist Panel the Code Assist Dictionary Version lists only 11, 2016 and 2018 versions. Clicking on Reload Dictionaries button doesn't do much, the button grays for about a second. Selecting a different dictionary and clicking Reload Dictionaries has no effect on behavior. I have Auto-Activation selected both boxes. Auto-Insertion, all 3 turned off though it continues to insert Closing Tag on a New Line.Append Space, Automatically Insert = sign and Insert Required Tag Att
Why is the ext-all.js file (cf_scripts/scripts/ajax/ext/ext-all.js) over 10MB in size? We went from CF10 to CF2018 and have 40+ legacy apps that use the cfwindow and some other CF UI built-in functions from CF10 and the app calls the ext-all.js file wihen the site loads (needed for cfwindow) and takes almost 2 minutes. Yes, I know they need replaced but with two developers and 40+ medium to larger applications it's not possible to replace these cfwindows with jquery or bootstrap modal windows quickly, especially when you still have other projects going on. Does anyone have any ideas or options to reduce the file size or any other workarounds (besides removing cfwindows) to speed the load time. Thanks.
I am trying to implement a custom event handler to monitor our scheduled tasks. Ideally i will log the data into a db and make it searchable, but in the mean time I am just trying to fire an email to make sure it gets called. Unfortuntately the emails are not comming through, however I know the SMTP is set up correctly. Here is a copy of the logs and handler cfc I tested. Any ideas on why the emails arent sending or why I am getting the error that the Response Cannot Be Null?I set the handle up in the Sceduled Task set up under more settings to point to my custom handler. When I fire the jobs, I do not see th email but instead see this in the logs,In the scheduler log I seeJul 10, 2019 12:25:00 PM Error DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-8 Response cannot be nullJul 10, 2019 12:25:00 PM Information DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-8 Task GROUP_NAME.Brendan Test triggered.Jul 10, 2019 12:25:00 PM Error D
