Hi Team,We  are  using ColdFusion 2016 Services in one of  the application. We observed that service is  not starting automatically even after  mutiple restart . Could you please check and assist further on this issue Please find the error  log for the same and let us know in case ofany further logs required.  RegardsHemanth

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has any experience of upgrading the Microsoft SQL Server driver from the Adobe one to the Microsoft one and if there was any improvement in performance. We did it but ran into issues with identity fields not being returned from insert queries but if there was a noticeable improvement in performance from them its something we would revisit. Thanks,Paul

Want to migrate from CF2016 to CF2021.  Have 2021 developers version with update 1 running.  My site has many cflayout tab areas with cflayoutarea tags for each tab.  These layouts are bound to dropdowns.  When another dropdown selection is made CF returns the following error: Component with the name tabname already exists.  Please use unique names for all the components.  Layout will not be rendered. If i remove the name= property in the cflayout then no tabs are rendered, so name is needed.  The page has one name for each tab and worked just fine in CF2016. Coding unique names seems like it shouldnt be needed for each time the dropdown is selected. Any suggestions?

I have been using ColdFusion 2016 for about 5 months without problem. Two days ago I suddenly could not access the built in server, receiving such messages as:127.0.0.1 refused to connect. in Opera and ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED in Chrome.I thought it could be a firewall issue, since when booting up I saw a message saying that another app (Akamai NetSession)  was being blocked and that Windows Firewall had made some changes. However on checking the firewall, ColdFusion Server is being allowed through (as are Opera Chrome, etc).I tried to start CFServer from a command prompt, but after navigating to the bin directory and typing ColdFusion.exe start I got no message of any kind.I am on port 8501 with the server (8500 was used by and old version of CF11) but have never had any running problems.I noted that the IIS start page appears on 127.0.0.1 when I checked the relevant options - so localhost is not completely disabled.I am not an expert on server issues. I ran into an issue where a condition (CFIF) that should be true is returning false. I'm installing Coldfusion 2021 on a RHEL8 server.  It is supposed to be running under Tomcat 9.0.50.  We run this succesfully on a CentOS 8 server/Coldfusion 2018.  However, RHEL, both cf2018 and cf2021 give the following message:"Error","main","08/04/21","08:52:35","","The Runtime service is not available. This exception is usually caused by service startup failure. Check your server configuration."coldfusion.server.ServiceFactory$ServiceNotAvailableException: The Runtime service is not available.How can I mitigate this?

Good afternoon,      CF 2018 installed on a CentOS 7 server.  I'm having what seems like a permission issue when using tag:<cfdocument>, PDF generated file.  The error report indicates "java.io.FileNotFoundException" <path to PDF file> (Permission denied).  This is happening for all PDF generated files using <cfdocument>.  Has anyone had experience with granting the appropriate permissions to generate these PDF files on linux?  I'm guessing the ColdFusion user needs to be granted the appropritate permissions to generate the file, or this is something having to do with the way the hosted server is setup in regards to network security.  Any insight will be much appreciated. Thanks, -Daniel

Hello, Been digging through the docs the last few days and i'm about out of hair to pull out. I've been leveraging the zip file based distribution of CF2021, have it up and running without any aparent errors in the server on a Windows 2019 Server. I've been trying for 2 days but it never downloads.I contacted support who advised me to call on Monday. I have 4 enterprise licenses for 2018 (under my business, not personal account) and I'm trying to do my due dilligence in justifying the upgrade in the face of cloud / IaC pressures so I need to know the upgrade path for POC, licensing, etc..But I can't download 2021 developer edition. I'm left with a phone number, a case number, and an open-ended task on Monday to so what anyone should be able to do - download a trial (developer) edition.

We have been having this issue for a while, and our hosting provider is unsure of it as well as the server has had Java and CF updates and patches, but it still occurs. We have looked at all of the online resources we could find, but can't find anyone else with a similar issue. We have a SIMPLE ColdFusion created CAPTCHA on our site and we notice that about 1 in 20 images has a UNIQUE character within the image. We have tried to narrow it down but the only thing we can determine is it is based on an 'Arial' font that is being used. Each time it shows up the unique character is different, so not always the 'r' or something like that. We have tried using ' fonts="Times New Roman" ' or another font, but that seemed to work for a while, but now anytime we specify the font, the CAPTCHA no longer displays ( not errors...but it ends the code at that point ). So we currently had to remove the font to get it to work. The character looks like a bunch of lines ' |||| ' so it is impossible to tell

Hi,Please be kind, this info is coming from one of our programmers, it's likely I will get terms wrong as I am a Blood Banker, not a programmer, hence my username.  🙂We are running CF 2021.  We are trying to connect to an offsite Oracle database.When she tried to create the connection in Data Sources she got "The ColdFusion ODBC Server service is not running or has not been installed."  In the pic below of IIS you can see the error when she tries to start it.  Is there something I need to install too?Thank you! 

I am wondering how framework one (fw1) making `view()` function available in views , like ColdFusion in built functions?. For example, in the below code , the `view()` function can be called like any ColdFusion in built functions. Hello, Due to a gigantic issue that Microsoft has said that they won't fix NTLM needs to be disabled in Windows environments. However it appears that CF only supports NTLM or BASIC authentication when integrated through IIS. What exactly are we supposed to do if CF hasn't been updated in 20 years to support Kerberos 5?

Hi,I have an application for which the final output is a pdf report about an applicant from a database of applicants.If I print the form just once, all the stylesheet formatting is applied correctly.If I try to loop through the database and generate multiple reports of multiple applicants, the styles and formatting get applied ONLY to the first report, and then the subsequent reports do not have any styles applied which of course makes them unacceptable.I've tried loading the stylesheet before the loop and inside the loop, no difference.The styles being lost are for divs and tables and cells.  Fonts are handled separately by calling functions within the report which apply them on the fly.to text based on the section and type of output.Is anyone familiar with this problem?  Is there a workaround? I was wondering if anyone could provide some advise regarding an app that I've had on my mind for a while back but haven't been able to get off the ground due to being in full-time work. Anyway, I attended the CF development week and that revived my interest in developing my app further but I’m a bit unsure as how to progress and wondered if you have any suggestions or advice. Currently I can see four ways forward for me:- 1) Finding time outside of work to build on my original idea and develop a working prototype. This would mean I would have to learn CFML and programming to a more advanced level than my current knowledge and also find time outside of work. The upside being I would have developed my coding skills and would have the developed some the source code. 2) I raise the funds to hire developers to build the product for me. I imagine that this would be costly! However, not impossible. 3) I find a team of likeminded developers who find the project intere
