Unable to create nested groups - grouping flattens structure

Product & version:
Adobe Express (Web)

Platform:
Browser (Chrome, latest version)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create multiple elements.
  2. Group some elements together (Group A).
  3. Create another group (Group B) or select additional elements.
  4. Try to group Group A with Group B (or with other elements).

Expected result:
Groups should remain nested (group inside another group), preserving hierarchy.

Actual result:
All elements are flattened into a single group.
Previous group structure is lost (including animations applied to those groups), and elements are no longer grouped into sub-groups.

Impact:
Creates a messy structure when working with many elements.
Reduces control and organisation in more complex designs.

Hi @Ksenia33632426wg9m, Thanks for sharing this in detail!

The grouping flattening you're seeing in Adobe Express is intentional behavior and not a bug. Express prevents nested groups by design to keep editing simple.

I’d suggest you to raise a feature request to let our product team know about this requirement: https://adobeexpress.uservoice.com/forums/951181-adobe-express

Our product team keeps an eye on such posts and analyse its popularity with the upvotes. They might reach out to you asking for more info on this.

    Hope this helps!
