Multipage PDF in InDesign Library
Libraries in InDesign and Illustrator should give me the option to choose which page of a multipage PDF I want to place in my document from the library.
I have a multipage PDF that has different variations of a logo on each page. For example, page one has black text and solid art for a light-colored background, page two has white text and solid art for a dark-colored background, page three has transparency for light backgrounds, page four has transparency for dark backgrounds, etc. I created it this way because Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign all give me the option to pick which page to link when I choose “Place Linked.” Unlike InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator don’t give me “Object Layer Options” like InDesign does so the only way I can have one file for all logo variants is to put each variant on its own page.
When I add the logo to my Bridge library, it seems to lock the multipage PDF to the first page only. When I drag the logo from my library to my InDesign document or Illustrator, it appears to be permanently locked to the first page. Only Photoshop asks me which page I want to place when I bring a multipage PDF from libraries into my document.
When I place the multipage PDF from my library into my InDesign or Illustrator document, I should be given the choice of what page I want (like Photoshop does).
