Denoise Node

The Raytraced ambient occlusion node has a lot of potential use for me, but the problem with it is it's very noisy. A denoise node would allow lower samples and better performance along with keeping the quality high.

 

 

Please add this.

Yeah but something proper like the optix/open denoise seen in blender would be much more efficient maybe?

Hello,

 

In addition to raising the amount of samples, a good way to denoise without losing quality is supersampling: compute the node at a higher resolution then downscale the result using a Transformation 2D node.

Also, make sure the bitdepth of the input height map is at least 16-bit to model smooth gradients..
