AAF

Don't for one minute think that there is any such thing as a 'standard' AAF so which version of AAF - ProTools, Media Composer, DaVincie, Premiere, etc, etc?
AAF is a self proclaimed standard that never should have been created.
Sure, the container format is always a standard but the methods for describing data within the container are not.
They each have multiple ways of describing the same thing and since everyone has a slightly different way of doing things within the containers to call it any kind of standard is crazy. While OMF, being literally a format within a container format, is bad enough, AAF and MXF are much worse because they are a format within a container within a structured storage format.

Anyway, I guess it doesn't hurt to ask
