Apply symmetrical fades to all clips within track

I record voiceovers in the multitrack mode of Adobe Audition. This allows me to edit non-destructively. After recording, I go through the track and delete all breath sounds which separates the file into separate clips.

Next, I apply subtle symmetrical fades to each clip on the track to smooth transitions between silent and audio sections, eliminating subtle 'pops.'

Applying the symmetrical fades can be a very time-consuming process depending on the length of the recording. I've been wanting this for years. Somebody please make this happen!

Hmm...I presume you're already using the "auto crossfade in overlapping clips" option. You could create a favourite in the waveform editor and batch process the clips, but I suspect that a "one fade fits all" action is going to run into problems.

Further thoughts (take them or leave them):

Mic placement and technique is, of course, the first line of defense in controlling breath sounds. Also, majority opinion seems to be that removing all breath sounds results in an unnatural presentation.

Finally,  there are a variety of plug-ins for breath control. iZotope RX Breath Control is popular.
