Auto fade-in and fade-out when adjusting levels in Spectral Frequency Display

I would like to have a feature where after making a rectangular selection in the Spectral Frequency Display it automatically asks for a fade-in and fade-out parameters so that when dropping the dB of that selection there isn't a hard transition or sudden drop-off.

In my mind it would work like the selection>feather feature in Photoshop.
