i haven't seen this reported anywhere elsewhere so it seams like I'm an edge case, but essentially Audition for me is acting like programs do when your CPU is taxed 100%. The whole program is just extremely laggy, the whole window takes ages to move then I try to drag it around, it takes a long time to open effect windows, the playhead is laggy, ect... It's worth stating that my PC is pretty overpowered for Audition so there shouldn't be any issues like this and there weren't any before. It's just acting like my PC is working too hard but it's not, i have no idea why this would happen besides some weird bug.

I am also trying to get some answers with this. I have done everything on my end, and now I am seeing the same thing on multiple machines that I have.

John is right its 2021 and still serious ui lag is an issue across all CC apps. it has nothing to do with system performance I think it relates to metal and Cuda codes because I remember I didn't have this problem on a 2010 or 2012 tower Mac Pro but in similar time it starts with cylander Mac Pro and iMacs simultaneously released and it is on since then

Running windows 10 on Toshiba laptop intel core i7, 16GB ram, 64 bit operating system x64 based processor. Adobe CC 2019. Intel HD Graphics 5500 and NVIDIA GeForce 930M drivers all updated. Allocated memory to Audition 12.9 GB. Cache all cleaned.
New issue with 4 seconds delay when moving playhead in multimix interface. No delay when in the wave editor and no issue with other apps.
Tried switching use hardware acceleration on/off and restart no change.
It's super annoying having to wait 4 seconds on the playhead to move.
I'm a freelancer editing podcasts, so I'm dependent on Audition to work properly.
Any ideas?

I know my reply is late, but can you mitigate the issue by having a youtube video running in the background? Yes, I know... sounds insane. But it does work for me for some reason, completely gets rid of the issue. As to why, I can only speculate, but what I do know is that Audition tanks the monitors refresh rate to single digits when not having a gpu accelerated application or video running in the background...

This is the case with the entire Creative Suite. I'm looking for alternatives to Adobe software because they just don't seem to care about this at all.

I am a game developer, so I know what my computers are capable of. For Audition's UI to perform this badly on all the systems I've used it on, I can only imagine what unoptimised horrors lie in the source code.

Presumably they use a common custom UI library between all CC apps, and whoever is leading the UI team does not seem to give a **** about performance.

Any attempt to contact Adobe about this is met with either:
- Update to the latest version
- Get a better computer
- Try turning off GPU acceleration

Can somebody who works on Adobe's UI team please comment?
Why do all CC apps perform so shockingly poorly?
How many layers of abstraction for programming convenience does the release build have to churn through every time a panel is resized? I dread to think.
