Recovering the audio on old VHS transfers

I've been looking all over for some kind of discussion/solution and can find nothig.

It's really simple. I have a bunch of 15 year old video transfers from VHS tapes, and they are full of wow (and possibly flutter - but deffo wow). It's not music just spoken word.

How do I use Audition to sort them out.
