The question 'why' is not pointless - it encourages people to explain the reasons for their request when they haven't given one, and sometimes there's an answer that they hadn't realised.

And if you use Google's AI search for the word Mixdown it will give you a good indication of why it is, in fact, and industry-wide term, and in common use. It may not be appropriate for all situations, but as a means of locating a mixdown file in amongst a list of others you've used it was a good idea, certainly at the time; you have to bear in mind that it dates back to before the concept of different sorts of exports - like stems, for instance - existed.

Adobe don't like changing things because invariably they draw howls of protest from many users, who are used to it just the way it is. Where they are not so clever (despite promising years ago that they would) is in not allowing people to change defaults, especially when it comes to labels. It would be good if they did, in fact, make good on their promise to make a lot more options for all sorts of things available, but I'm not holding my breath.

To ask "why" is pretty pointless. It's obvious, people don't want things like this forced upon them. It's a simple solution for some reason Adobe doesn't want to change. It's an obnoxious process to have to physically remove that word every time you export something. It's as if Adobe thinks that the word mixdown is some industry standard nomenclature, and it's not. The word certainly isn't hard coded when you export batched markers, so it's an oversight that Adobe apparently doesn't want to change because they don't like making simple solutios.

They're better question is why did they put it there in the first place? All the way back to at least Adobe audition 1 or maybe 2.

Are you on a Mac? While waiting for Adobe, this may help.

It would be nice if you could set up a template for export naming. Almost all my dance show music edits need the format 'Sequence name' 'Duration'

because i need to export a lot of files and my client needs a specific nomenclature that don't include mixdown word, and because of this annoying situation at adobe audition i need to change all the files name one by one!
